Color Mismatch — Questions & Answers

1263 questions answered. Page 7 of 22.
Will my new rubberwood dining set darken if I leave it near my window?
Yes. Rubberwood oxidises quickly under direct sun — a side facing the window can darken 2-3 shades within 6 months in Singapore. Pull the set 1m back from glass, or fit a UV film (around S$12 per square foot installed). Rotate table position quarterly so any darkening stays even. Wipe with a damp microfibre cloth weekly — never silicone polish, it traps heat and worsens oxidation.
What curtain colour works with a walnut bed frame and white walls?
Walnut reads warm-brown with red undertones. Avoid pure white curtains — they highlight the bed’s darkness. Pick oat, taupe, or muted terracotta linen to echo the wood without copying it. For a Punggol or Tampines condo with strong afternoon sun, lined cotton (around S$28-45 per panel at IKEA Singapore) blocks heat and balances the warm-cool contrast in the room.
Does MIDHILL offer any warranty if my furniture colour looks different from the website?
MIDHILL’s policy covers 2 years on surface finish and 10 years on structure, but colour variation from monitor or lighting is not a defect — solid wood naturally shifts. They ship a written cleaning instruction with every Foshan order, and you can request dated batch records plus photos of your actual piece before shipping. Mould control uses low-moisture crate timber and matched desiccants for the Singapore sea route.
Why does my walnut TV console look slightly more reddish under my Tampines HDB warm white lights than in the showroom photo?
Warm 2700K LEDs pull red and amber tones out of walnut grain, while showroom photos are usually shot under 4000K daylight bulbs. In a Tampines BTO with no north-facing window, evening light stays warm all night. Test under three bulb temperatures before judging. MIDHILL ships a written care card listing the exact NC lacquer used so you know what sheen you are sealing.
Will a French neoclassical chest of drawers look too heavy in a 90 sqm Punggol HDB master bedroom?
A neoclassical chest at 120cm wide x 45cm deep fits a 90 sqm Punggol room if you anchor it on the wall opposite the bed head. Keep 75cm walkway clearance. The curved cornice reads heavy, so pair with a slim brass mirror and one table lamp. Avoid matching bed frames in the same carving, or the room feels like a furniture showroom rather than a home.
Is European queen bed furniture worth it for a small Jurong East flat, or should I stick with local brands?
European queen frames at 158 x 198cm fit Jurong East HDB rooms built after 2015, but check your door opening first - older flats have 80cm doorways and you may need knock-down assembly. Worth it if the warranty covers tropical humidity warping. Ask whether the slats are rubberwood or plywood; plywood sags faster in Jurong's 85% humidity nights. Test the bed after 30 days before signing off delivery.
How do I style a French provincial wardrobe in a small apartment without it looking like a Peranakan museum?
Pick one statement piece, not three. A 180cm French provincial wardrobe against a plain off-white wall beats one surrounded by carved side tables. Add one rattan basket and one black metal floor lamp for contrast. Skip the matching bed if your room is under 12 sqm - the eye needs rest. Jurong East and Bedok owners often swap the wardrobe handles for matte brass to modernise the look without replacing the frame.
Nordic corner sofa Singapore - will the beige fabric go yellow under my living room afternoon sun?
Yes, untreated beige linen can yellow in 8-12 months of direct Jurong west sun. Request a fabric with UV resistance rating, or plan sheer white curtains from BTO day one. Rotate cushions weekly so wear stays even. Singapore humidity also feeds mould in foam cores - vacuum monthly and avoid pushing the sofa flush against the air-con ledge where condensation drips overnight.
Why does my mango wood bookshelf look blotchy after only three months in a Bedok condo?
Mango wood is porous and absorbs moisture unevenly in Bedok's 80%+ humidity. Blotchiness is usually the finish breaking down, not the wood. Wipe with a dry microfiber cloth only, never pledge or silicone spray. Standing water near the air-con drip tray is the usual culprit. MIDHILL's NC lacquer specification is on the care card so you know what to maintain.
How do I style a American country furniture in a small apartment so it does not feel dated?
American country works in small Singapore flats if you cut the pattern count. One pine dining table, one plaid cushion, plain walls. Skip the matching hutch - it eats 1.5 sqm. Pair with a black industrial pendant from Tampines IKEA and one fiddle leaf plant. The trick is mixing one rough-sawn wood piece with two clean modern items, otherwise the room reads like a countryside set.
Will my oak dining table turn orange if I leave it near my Punggol kitchen window?
Yes, natural oak oxidises faster than walnut, and Punggol afternoon sun through glass is intense. You will see honey-orange deepening within 6 months on the sunlit half. Rotate the table 180 degrees monthly, or hang a sheer linen curtain. UV-filtering window film from any Tampines hardware shop costs under S$30 and blocks 95% of the damage wavelength without darkening the room.
What curtain colour will not clash with my greige rubberwood sideboard in a Tampines 4-room HDB?
Greige rubberwood sits between grey and beige, so curtain colours that pull one direction are safer than mid-tones. Off-white linen or dusty sage green works. Avoid pure grey - it competes. Avoid warm yellow - it pushes everything orange. Tampines HDB windows are usually 2.1m tall, so hang the rod 15cm below the ceiling to lift the eye and make the sideboard feel anchored rather than wall-hugging.
Why does the drawer front of my sideboard look a different shade than the side panels?
Drawer fronts and side panels are often finished separately because horizontal and vertical surfaces use different lacquer systems. Sun hits vertical panels at an angle, horizontals flat-on, so they age differently. In a Jurong flat with strong west sun, expect 6 months of evening out. MIDHILL keeps dated batch records; ask for yours so you can see whether your piece came from the same spray session.
Should I buy the rug or the dining table first when furnishing a new condo in Singapore?
Buy the dining table first. A rug is sized to fit around table legs with 60cm of rug showing on each side. If you buy the rug first in a 12 sqm dining corner, you will either overcrowd or leave an awkward 20cm strip. Measure your dining zone, place masking tape on the floor at Tampines IKEA before buying, then match the rug. Reversing the order causes returns.
Will my new white ash bed frame turn yellow under my bedroom LED downlights?
White ash has a slight green-yellow undertone that intensifies under 3000K warm LEDs. After 12 months of nightly use you may notice a creamy cast on the headboard. Wipe monthly with a barely damp cloth, never vinegar. Singapore bedroom humidity around 70% keeps ash stable, but direct downlight 30cm above the wood is the real risk factor.
How do I pair cushions with my dark walnut sofa without the room feeling like a coffin?
Use two light, one accent. Pick ivory linen, soft sage, and one rust cushion for a dark walnut sofa in a Tampines BTO living room. Avoid jewel tones like emerald - they fight walnut's red. A textured boucle cushion adds visual warmth without colour noise. Keep cushion count at three for a 2.4m sofa, four max, or the seat depth shrinks and the sofa looks overstuffed.
Show images care - how do I ask a Foshan furniture seller for batch photos before shipping?
Ask the seller for dated batch inspection photos with the production date visible, plus close-ups of the exact panel you will receive. MIDHILL keeps multi-stage inspection records and will share them on request for any Singapore order. Avoid sellers who send only showroom shots or 'similar' product photos. Real batch photos show grain pattern, joint tightness, and the actual finish sheen your piece will carry.
Will my walnut bed frame look too dark next to my white Scandinavian wardrobe?
Walnut and white ash or white laminate is a classic high-contrast pairing, not a clash. The trick is adding a third medium tone - a beige rug, a timber floor lamp base, or a cane bench at the bed end - so the eye has somewhere to rest between the two extremes. In a 10 sqm Bedok bedroom, keep the contrast or the room reads flat and hotel-like.
What floor lamp shape suits a Japandi dining corner with a low oak bench?
A slim 150-160cm arc or tripod lamp with a paper or linen shade. Avoid chrome or crystal. Japandi leans on raw materials, so a black metal stem with a bamboo shade or a light oak tripod fits. Place the lamp 90cm from the bench edge so it lights the table centre without glare. In a Jurong condo with 2.8m ceilings, go taller rather than wider.
Why does my rubberwood dining chair look pinkish-orange against my grey vinyl floor?
Rubberwood naturally has a pinkish hue that grey floors amplify. This is not a defect, it is how the species reads under 4000K lighting. If it bothers you, request a grey stain upgrade before ordering, or layer a jute rug under the dining set to soften the contrast. Singapore lighting in most HDB flats runs warm, so the pink intensifies after sunset - test the chair in-store under both bulb temperatures.
Can I leave my teak garden chair outside under my Punggol condo balcony roof year-round?
Teak handles Singapore rain better than most woods, but balcony roofs leak sideways during thunderstorms. Standing water at the joint is the killer, not the rain itself. Wipe joints dry weekly and lift the chair 2cm off the floor with rubber feet so airflow dries the underside. Untreated teak silver-grays within 6 months in Punggol - this is cosmetic, not damage, and can be sanded back.
What paint colour goes with my honey-toned ash wardrobe without making the room look beige?
Go cool and pale. Soft sage green, dusty blue, or greige-white with a slight grey base. Honey ash pulls yellow, so matching the wall with another warm tone creates a beige soup. In a Jurong East HDB with no north light, try a cool white with 5-10% grey added - it reads neutral against the wardrobe but keeps the room fresh. Test swatches at three times of day before committing.
Will my new sideboard arrive damaged if my HDB block lift is only 1.2m wide?
Most sideboards 150cm wide or larger will not fit a 1.2m x 1.2m lift upright. Measure the lift diagonal, not just the doorway. For Tampines and Bedok older blocks, request knock-down assembly so the top and base travel separately. MIDHILL export crates are engineered for stacking compression but you still need to clear the lift door, so check with your Town Council before delivery day.
Why does my new cherry wood bed look lighter than the showroom sample after one week?
Cherry wood lightens under direct light, not darkens. In a Jurong flat with strong afternoon sun, expect the headboard to fade 10-15% within the first 8 weeks, then stabilise. The showroom piece has been under LED only, your piece gets UV daily. Rotate cushions to even out exposure. Avoid leather conditioners on cherry - they yellow the grain further in our climate.
What is the most common pairing mistake Singaporeans make with Korean minimal furniture?
Adding too many matching sets. Korean minimal works on contrast - one light wood piece, one black metal accent, one soft textile. The mistake is buying a light wood bed, light wood wardrobe, light wood side table, and light wood TV console. In a 12 sqm Bedok bedroom the eye has nowhere to land. Swap one piece for matte black or rattan to anchor the room visually.
How long does Foshan to Singapore shipping take by sea, and will humidity hurt the furniture in transit?
Door-to-door sea shipping from Foshan to Singapore takes 14-21 days including customs clearance and HDB delivery booking. Humidity is controlled in transit using low-moisture crate timber, desiccant matched to cargo volume, and a vapour barrier. MIDHILL packs stone and mirrors vertically in padded slots with polished faces never touching. Inspect the crate base on arrival - rigid base matters more than wall thickness.
Will my extendable dining table leave a visible colour line in the middle when extended?
Yes, the extension leaf often looks lighter for the first 3-6 months because it has been stored in a darker warehouse while the main table fades. After that, the leaf catches up. To speed up matching, leave the table extended for two weeks in a Tampines room with good airflow. Avoid placing one half in direct sun and the other in shade - the line will persist for a year.
Why does my new oak bookshelf darken differently on each shelf in my condo?
Top shelves get heat rising from the room, bottom shelves get cooler floor-level air, and humidity pools low. This temperature split makes oak oxidise unevenly across vertical panels. In Punggol flats with underfloor cooling, the bottom shelf darkens faster. Rotate stored books monthly to even out light exposure on the wood surface and check for mildew at the back panel.
Will a American country walnut headboard look too dark in my Tampines HDB master bedroom?
A walnut headboard reads warm chocolate brown, so against a typical HDB white wall it actually grounds the room instead of swallowing it. In a 4-room Tampines flat with one north-facing window, expect the grain to deepen by about one shade around 6pm. Pair it with off-white 100% cotton bedding and a light oak console; the contrast prevents the bed from feeling heavy. Avoid placing it under direct afternoon sun; UV accelerates the natural oxidisation walnut already undergoes.
Is a Mid-century modern extendable dining table singapore homes actually practical?
For most 3-room and 4-room BTOs, a 140–180cm extendable table sits six daily and opens to seat eight for gatherings. The MIDHILL workshop in Foshan builds these with a centre leaf stored inside, so you never lose a spare panel behind the fridge. Allow 90cm clearance behind each chair for pulling out; that translates to roughly 220cm of corridor width minimum. The slim tapered legs keep visual weight low, which matters in compact Punggol kitchens with about 2.4m ceiling height.
Why does my new oak coffee table look more yellow under my Jurong condo's downlights?
2700K warm-white LEDs exaggerate yellow and amber tones in light woods, so a natural oak top can shift toward honey by evening. Swap to 3000K bulbs or add one 4000K lamp near the table; the cooler light balances the grain. Keep the table out of direct sun, which bleaches the same wood unevenly over months. A clear matte wax applied every six months slows the yellowing effect on horizontal surfaces that face daily wear.
Is Japandi bed frame furniture worth it for a HDB bedroom?
Japandi frames work well in HDB bedrooms because the low platform design reduces visual bulk in rooms with 2.6m ceilings. A queen-size in solid ash or rubberwood typically measures 215cm long by 165cm wide, fitting through most HDB corridors after minor disassembly. The neutral tone pairs with any bedding, so redecorating costs drop. Look for frames with slatted bases; they ventilate better in our humid climate and prevent mattress mildew during the November monsoon weeks.
Why is my new ash dining set patchier than the showroom sample?
Ash is a ring-porous hardwood, so figure varies dramatically between boards even from the same tree. Your sample was likely one carefully chosen piece; a six-seater set draws from several planks. In Singapore humidity of 80%, the lighter boards oxidise faster than darker ones during the first three months. Rotate the tablecloth weekly so the top tones even out, and avoid placing the set under an air-con vent that blows cold air directly onto the surface.
Will my new mango wood bookshelf clash with my existing teak floor?
Mango wood carries greenish-grey undertones, while teak floors lean reddish-brown, so the two can fight if placed side by side. Separate them with a neutral rug or a tall plant in a white planter. In a 90sqm Jurong East condo, position the bookshelf on the wall opposite, not adjacent to, the main floor seam. The clash softens after six months as both woods oxidise toward a warmer mid-brown under ambient light.
How long should I let a new walnut sideboard acclimatise in my Punggol flat?
Leave it standing in the room for 5–7 days before loading it with anything. Walnut moves more across the grain than along it, and Punggol's average 78% humidity differs sharply from the dry Foshan workshop. Keep the piece away from the wall by 10cm so air circulates behind. Do not remove the felt pads; they let the base breathe. After a week, drawers and doors that swelled slightly should swing freely again without planing.
What rug colour works with a light ash bed frame and grey laminate floor?
A muted terracotta or dusty blue wool rug, roughly 200x280cm, grounds a queen bed without competing with the ash grain. Grey floors already lean cool, so warm-tone rugs prevent the bedroom from feeling sterile under air-con at 24°C. Avoid pure white or cream rugs; they show dust within days. In a HDB master bedroom, position the rug so it extends 60cm beyond the bed's side rails for comfortable barefoot landings in the morning.
Why does my solid oak bench look streaky after only two months?
Streaking usually traces back to cleaning, not wear. Abrasive sprays, silicone polishes, or a wet mop left sitting on the bench all break down the lacquer faster than foot traffic ever would. Wipe only with a damp microfibre cloth and dry immediately. Once a quarter, apply a thin coat of paste wax on a felt block, then buff; this rebuilds the protective layer. Direct afternoon sun through a west-facing window in a Bedok flat accelerates the damage too.
Can a post-modern dining table canada export survive Singapore humidity?
Yes, provided the maker controls moisture at export. MIDHILL crating uses low-moisture timber plus desiccant matched to cargo volume and a vapour barrier around each panel. Post-modern tables often combine travertine or tempered glass tops with engineered bases, both of which tolerate Singapore's 70–90% humidity well. Ask for the dated batch records and crate photos before shipment; legitimate sellers in Canada can produce them. Allow two weeks acclimatisation once the crate lands in your Tampines home.
Will my new cherry wood TV console look pink against my white feature wall?
Cherry naturally trends pinkish-red, especially under 3000K downlights, so against a pure white wall it can read bubblegum. Tone it down with a warm beige or greige wall instead, or add framed black-and-white art above to neutralise the contrast. In a small Bedok condo, choose a console under 180cm wide so the wall still shows on both sides. The pink softens noticeably after the first year as the wood oxidises toward a deeper brick tone.
Why does my rubberwood dining chair look orange next to my grey sofa?
Rubberwood takes stain warm by default, and most factories use a reddish-brown toner that reads orange beside cool grey upholstery. Pull the two apart visually with a sage or eucalyptus cushion on the chair seat; green cancels orange on the colour wheel. Alternatively, refinish the chair in a clear matte sealer to mute the red. In a modern Malaysian condo style setting, this pairing trick is more effective than replacing either piece entirely.
Should I buy the bed or wardrobe first when furnishing a HDB bedroom?
Buy the bed first. It dictates the wall layout, then the wardrobe fits the remaining stretch of wall, typically 180–240cm. Measure the wardrobe's deepest dimension, usually 60cm, against your corridor; most HDB passages are 1.2m wide, so anything under 65cm depth clears the bend. The MIDHILL Foshan workshop builds wardrobes to the centimetre; buyers who arrive with a dimension schedule leave with a confirmed specification within five working days at the Lecong showroom.
Will my new white ash bookcase yellow if placed near my kitchen in a condo?
Cooking vapour and oil mist settle on nearby furniture and yellow water-based finishes within months. Keep the bookcase at least 3m from the stove, or install a range hood rated above 1500m³/h. Wipe the shelves weekly with a barely damp microfibre cloth to remove grease before it bonds. A coat of clear polyurethane over the ash slows yellowing far better than nitrocellulose lacquer, which is what most cheaper Asian factories still spray.
What floor lamp height suits a 200cm sofa in a Tampines condo living room?
A 150–160cm arched floor lamp clears the sofa back by about 30cm and casts light across the seating zone without glare. For Scandinavian interiors, choose a slim black metal stem with a paper drum shade. Place it 20cm behind the sofa arm so the base tucks out of walking paths. Warm 2700K bulbs at 800 lumens give enough reading light without overpowering a 65-inch TV mounted on the opposite wall in compact layouts.
Why does my new teak side table look patchy after rain leakage through the balcony door?
Teak contains natural oils that migrate unevenly when wet, leaving lighter and darker patches once the surface dries. Wipe it immediately with a dry cloth and let air circulate for 24 hours; do not rub the wet area. Apply a thin teak oil coat afterwards to even out the tone. To prevent recurrence, seal the balcony door threshold with a silicone strip; most Punggol BTOs need this after the first monsoon season due to building settlement.
What cushion colours go with a walnut headboard and white bedding?
Layer rust, mustard, and forest green in linen covers; these earthy tones pick up walnut's red undertones without competing. Stick to three cushions max on a queen bed, otherwise the look tips busy. In a 12sqm HDB bedroom, two 50cm square cushions plus one 30x50cm lumbar cushion fill the backrest neatly. Rotate them every two weeks so fading from the single window stays even across the set rather than concentrated on one face.
Is it normal for a new solid wood chair to feel rough on the underside?
Yes, factories sand only the visible surfaces to save labour; undersides and inner leg faces often skip the final grit. Run your hand along the bottom edge before assembly; a quick pass with 220-grit sandpaper fixes snags. This is not a defect and does not affect the 10-year structural warranty MIDHILL provides on its Foshan-made seating. Vacuum the seat cavity before fitting cushions, as leftover sanding dust can mould in our humidity within weeks.
How do I stop my mango wood coffee table from darkening unevenly?
Rotate the table 90 degrees every fortnight so any side facing the window gets equal UV exposure. Apply a paste wax on a felt block every quarter, buff it off, then remove swirl marks with a soft cloth; this sequence rebuilds protection without clouding the finish. Avoid silicone polishes sold at car-care counters; they penetrate the grain and cause the patchy darkening customers often mistake for a factory defect. Keep coasters under all cups.
What paint colour goes with a light ash Scandinavian bed frame?
Warm white with a pink or cream undertone, such as Dulux Timeless or Jotun Lady 1629, keeps ash looking neutral rather than grey. Cool greys push ash toward green and read clinical under Singapore's bright light. Paint one feature wall behind the bed in this warmer shade; the other three walls can stay classic white. In a compact HDB room, this single accent wall adds depth without darkening the space during the evening hours.
Why does my new sideboard smell stronger than the showroom piece?
Fresh nitrocellulose lacquer off-gasses for 2–4 weeks, especially when crated with desiccant and then opened into air-conditioned space. The trapped smell intensifies once the vapour barrier is removed. Air the piece in a ventilated room for 48 hours before placing it in your Tampines living area. Wipe interiors with a damp cloth; do not use scented sprays, which only mask the smell. After a month the lacquer stabilises and the scent disappears completely.
Why does my new walnut dining table look darker than the showroom sample?
Walnut oxidises quickly under Singapore’s strong afternoon sun, especially through east-facing windows in Punggol or Tampines flats. UV exposure pulls purplish-brown tones deeper within 2–3 weeks. MIDHILL recommends rotating the table 90° weekly for the first month and keeping curtains half-drawn between 1–4pm. Ask for the batch finishing record to compare your crate’s date with the showroom piece.
Will an American country oak headboard clash with my existing teak bedframe?
Oak carries cooler honey-yellow pigments while teak trends reddish-amber — placed side by side they read as two different woods. In a compact Bedok 4-room HDB, the contrast becomes obvious within 2m viewing distance. Either stain the oak closer to a medium teak tone, or separate them visually with a neutral fabric headboard cover in stone grey. Avoid matching at any price.
Can I style a Post-modern sofa in a small apartment without it looking cluttered?
Keep the sofa to 180cm or under, float it 25cm off the longest wall, and limit accent pieces to one curved floor lamp plus a single oval travertine coffee table. Stick to two-tone upholstery — warm beige base, charcoal piping — so the silhouette reads as sculptural rather than busy. Singapore condo living rooms under 18sqm benefit most from this restrained approach.
What headboard for condo bedrooms under 12sqm works best?
A slim upholstered headboard between 8–10cm thick keeps the room visually open. Choose a neutral boucle or linen in off-white to bounce light around windowless master bedrooms common in Punggol Northshore units. Floor-to-headboard clearance of 5cm prevents the dreaded “floating” look. Avoid ornate carved wood — it overwhelms compact proportions and traps dust in our humid climate.
Will cherry wood furniture look pink against my grey vinyl flooring?
Yes — cherry’s reddish undertones amplify next to cool grey, reading almost salmon in evening LED lighting. Break the clash with a warm jute or sisal rug in natural beige to ground both tones. If you have already purchased the cherry piece, a tinted wood sealer can mute the pink. Test under your actual bedroom bulb before committing to a permanent solution.
How do I stop my rubberwood dining set from yellowing near the kitchen window?
Rubberwood lightens and yellows under direct UV exposure, especially in Jurong East units with west-facing service yards. Apply a UV-filtering film to the nearest glass panel, or move the set 1.5m away from the window. Wipe spills immediately — water marks oxidise permanently within hours under tropical humidity. Rotate the table monthly so one side does not darken faster.
Will my new mango wood bookshelf look mismatched next to existing oak shelves?
Mango carries warm golden streaks with dark mineral lines, while oak reads more uniform and paler. In a Singapore condo study, the contrast feels intentional only if both pieces share similar proportions and hardware finish. Otherwise, separate them on different walls or paint the back panel a shared colour like sage green to tie the tones together visually without forcing a match.
Does ash bedroom furniture turn yellow under LED lights in Singapore?
Pale ash develops warm yellow tones within 4–6 months under typical 4000K LED bulbs combined with our ambient humidity. To slow this, switch to 3000K warm-white bulbs and dust weekly with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid silicone polishes — they react with nitrocellulose lacquer and create permanent cloudy patches that no cleaning can remove later.
Should I buy the bedframe or wardrobe first when renovating a new HDB?
Buy the wardrobe first. Wardrobes are the largest fixed footprint and dictate door-swing clearance, bedside table reach, and ceiling bulkhead placement. In a 4-room BTO at Sengkang or Canberra, ceiling heights around 2.8m allow 240cm wardrobes without crowding. Once wardrobe position is finalised, the bedframe becomes a simple gap-fill measurement rather than a guess.
Will a champagne solid wood accent chair suit a Japandi living room?
Champagne-toned solid wood pairs naturally with Japandi’s muted oak and ash palette because the metallic warmth complements flax linen sofas. Choose one with clean tapered legs and a hand-rubbed gloss finish so light reflects gently rather than harshly. Place it beside a linen armchair in off-white and a low paper lantern floor lamp for balance. Avoid pairing with glossy black accents.
Why does my extension table leave a visible colour line when extended?
Most extension tables use one batch of timber for the top and a different batch for the hidden leaves, then finish them weeks apart. Even the same stain absorbs differently across grain orientations. MIDHILL numbers extension leaves to the original top during production so oxidation catches up within 6–8 weeks. Until then, keep the extension stored in the same room.
