Marble Furniture — Questions & Answers

1356 questions answered. Page 18 of 23.
How do I clean kopi or teh stains off my marble console without damaging the seal?
Don't use vinegar, citric cleaners, or anything labelled 'natural descaler' — the acid etches marble within minutes and voids most surface warranties. Use a pH-neutral stone soap (pH 7) with a soft microfibre cloth, blot not rub, rinse with clean water, then dry the surface. For old tannin stains, a poultice of baking soda + water left 24 hours under clingfilm lifts it without damaging the PU sealer.
Will a marble coffee table stain if my toddler spills Milo on it daily?
Milo has cocoa tannin and milk protein — both stain and etch if left more than 15 minutes on unsealed marble. On a PU-sealed surface, wipe within 5 minutes with a damp microfibre and pH-neutral soap and you'll see no mark. Keep a small tray on the table for the cup, and a pack of wipes nearby. Reseal every 12 months; the sealer is the only thing standing between Milo and a permanent brown ring.
Can I use marble furniture outdoors on my Punggol condo balcony?
Not recommended. Even covered balconies in Punggol face direct afternoon rain 4–5 months a year, and marble etches from rainwater acidity (pH 5.6) plus thermal shock from sun-to-rain swings. Within 18 months the surface will dull and crack at the veining. Use teak or powder-coated aluminium outdoors, and bring marble inside. The UV exposure alone fades white marble to yellow in 2–3 years.
Master bed for small apartment — should I get storage drawers or lift-up?
Lift-up storage wins in HDB master bedrooms under 10 sqm — drawers eat 12 cm of usable depth and need 60 cm clearance to open, which a small room rarely has. A hydraulic lift base stores 25–30 cm deep, holds 4–6 luggage pieces, and uses the dead space under the mattress. Budget S$650–S$950 extra for the lift mechanism from a Foshan workshop like MIDHILL, fitted to a queen or king.
What cushions and curtains pair with a grey marble TV console in a Korean minimal flat?
Korean minimal means texture over colour — pair a grey marble TV console with oatmeal linen curtains (drop to floor, no break), and 2–3 cushions in boucle or ribbed cotton in cream and stone. Skip patterns; the marble vein is the pattern. One trailing pothos on the console, one ceramic vase, nothing else. Wall colour: warm white 9001, ceiling same. The console is the quiet anchor; styling stays under S$300 total.
Is a solid marble console table better than engineered stone for resale value?
Solid marble holds resale value better than engineered stone in the Singapore market — buyers in Bukit Timah and River Valley condos pay 15–25% more for genuine stone at the same price point. Engineered quartz tops chip at the edges and the resin yellows within 5–7 years, which hurts resale. MIDHILL, exporting to 15+ countries from Foshan since 2008, offers a 10-year structural warranty and lifetime refinishing — that warranty transfers to the next owner.
Is a French provincial cherry wood loveseat too bulky for a 4-room HDB in Tampines?
Most French provincial cherry wood loveseats sit around 150–170 cm wide, 85 cm deep, and weigh 60–75 kg. A standard 4-room HDB living room in Tampines is roughly 4.2 m × 3.5 m, so a loveseat that size leaves comfortable walking space. Measure your corridor (usually 1.2–1.5 m) and lift door (around 0.9 m wide) before ordering. Cherry wood’s warm tone pairs well with neutral HDB flooring, and the curved silhouette softens rectangular layouts common in Singapore flats.
Where can I see a Post-modern king bed for HDB flat before buying?
MIDHILL’s Lecong (Foshan) showroom works by appointment — book two working days ahead, arrive with a dimension schedule, and leave with a specification within five working days. Post-modern king beds typically measure 180 × 200 cm, so check your HDB master bedroom (commonly 3.2 × 3.4 m) and lift access (1.2 m door, 2.1 m height). MIDHILL exports to 15+ countries and offers a 10-year structural warranty, 14-day returns, and free shipping over US$350.
What rug size works with a 120 cm round marble dining table in a condo?
Pick a round rug 180–200 cm in diameter, leaving 60 cm of rug visible on all sides when chairs are pushed out. In Jurong or Punggol condos with 2.8 m wide dining zones, that gives comfortable chair movement. Choose a low-pile wool or indoor-outdoor polypropylene rug — both handle Singapore humidity and air-con temperature swings. Avoid jute or sisal, which can mould under our 80%+ moisture levels. Anchor the rug with non-slip padding.
Is a Mid-century modern shoe cabinet practical for Malaysia’s climate too?
A Mid-century modern shoe cabinet around 80–90 cm tall, 30–35 cm deep, suits both Singapore and Malaysian condos because slim tapered legs lift the base off tiled floors — improving airflow and reducing mould risk in tropical humidity. Look for solid wood with a cross-linked polyurethane finish on vertical panels, which resists yellowing better than nitrocellulose lacquer in our climate. Models with 2–3 tiers fit 12–18 pairs, enough for daily rotation.
What paint colour goes with a Carrara marble console in a Bedok HDB?
Warm whites like Dulux Timeless 2100 or Nippon B482 pair cleanly with Carrara marble’s grey veins without competing. In a Bedok HDB with typical 2.7 m ceilings, avoid dark navy or charcoal — they make compact rooms feel smaller and highlight humidity marks. Soft greige (like Jotun’s 14581 Smooth Stone) bridges warm flooring and cool stone. Finish with a mould-resistant kitchen-and-bath paint formula, which performs better in Singapore’s tropical climate than standard emulsions.
Will my marble console table fit through a HDB corridor?
Standard HDB corridors are 1.2–1.5 m wide, with lift doors around 0.9 m wide and 2.1 m tall. Most console tables (120–150 cm long, 40 cm deep, 75–80 cm tall) fit if you tilt vertically. Marble consoles weighing 35–55 kg need two people and a furniture dolly. Measure diagonally — a 140 cm long table needs 140 cm of diagonal clearance through the lift door. MIDHILL crates marble vertically in padded slots to protect polished faces during delivery.
How do I clean kopi stains from a white marble surface without ruining the finish?
Blot the spill within 60 seconds — never wipe, as spreading pushes pigment into the stone. Mix pH-neutral marble soap with warm water, apply with a microfibre cloth in circular motions, then dry with a second cloth. Avoid vinegar, lemon, or any acidic cleaner — they etch marble permanently within minutes. For stubborn kopi rings, use a marble polishing powder with a felt block, following the grain. Reseal with marble sealer every 12 months.
What floor lamp height suits a marble side table next to a sofa?
A floor lamp 150–160 cm tall works best beside a 55–60 cm tall marble side table and a standard 85–90 cm sofa seat height. The lamp’s shade should sit at eye level when seated (roughly 110–120 cm from the floor). Choose an arched or swing-arm design to direct light onto the marble surface without glare. In Tampines or Punggol condos with 2.6 m ceilings, a slim profile prevents the corner from feeling crowded.
Can I place a marble dining table near my condo’s air-con vent?
Keep marble at least 1.2 m away from direct air-con airflow. Constant cold-dry air against warm humid room air causes thermal shock, which can micro-crack the stone over 6–12 months. In Singapore condos where vents are often ceiling-mounted, this is rarely an issue — but avoid positioning directly under one. If your dining zone forces close placement, run the air-con on auto mode (24–26°C) rather than continuous maximum cool to reduce stress on the stone.
What cushions pair best with a marble coffee table in a Korean minimal condo?
Korean minimal interiors lean soft and neutral — pair a Carrara or Calacatta marble table with linen-cotton blend cushions in oatmeal, dusty pink, or sage green. Sizes 45 × 45 cm or 50 × 30 cm lumbar shapes keep proportions balanced. Avoid high-gloss synthetic covers, which clash with matte stone surfaces. In Punggol or Jurong East new launches, monochrome cushions on a boucle sofa complement the marble’s natural veining without visual competition.
What curtain fabric works with a marble TV console in a tropical condo?
Sheer linen or linen-cotton blend curtains (200–230 cm drop for standard 2.6 m HDB ceilings) soften marble’s hard edges without trapping humidity like heavy velvet does. Choose warm beige or off-white — pure white shows mould spots quickly in Singapore’s climate. Pair with a blackout liner for west sun in Jurong or Bukit Batok units. Machine-washable fabrics handle kopi splashes and air-con condensation better than dry-clean-only materials.
Which is more durable for daily use — Carrara or Calacatta marble?
Both are genuine Italian marble with similar hardness (Mohs 3–4), but Calacatta has thicker, more dramatic veining and slightly higher porosity in the white background. Carrara’s finer grey veins make surface scratches less visible over time. For a Tampines family with kids, Carrara handles daily wear better because grey veining hides minor etching from acidic spills. Both need sealing every 12–18 months and pH-neutral cleaning to survive Singapore’s humidity.
What plants pair well with a marble side table without scratching the surface?
Choose non-toxic, slow-leaking plants like snake plants, ZZ plants, or pothos in ceramic pots with felt pads underneath. Avoid pots with rough terracotta bases, which can scratch polished marble within weeks. Use waterproof saucers — Singapore’s humidity causes condensation rings on cold stone. Place the plant 20–30 cm away from the marble edge so watering splashes don’t contact the stone. Refresh potting soil yearly to prevent mould in our tropical climate.
How do I prevent my marble side table from yellowing in a window-side position?
Direct sunlight on marble causes iron content to oxidise, creating yellow-brown patches within 18–24 months. Apply a UV-blocking window film (reduces 99% of UV) or sheer curtain between the window and table. Seal the marble every 12 months with a penetrating sealer — spray, wait 10 minutes, buff dry. In Punggol or Bedok units with afternoon sun exposure, rotate the table 90° quarterly so any patina remains even rather than concentrated on one side.
What is the most common pairing mistake people make with marble furniture?
Over-matching — buying marble tops, marble floors, and marble walls together creates a cold, clinical feel and magnifies humidity marks in Singapore’s climate. Pair one marble statement piece (coffee table or console) with warm wood, soft linen, and woven textures for balance. Another mistake is placing marble on plush thick rugs — it traps moisture underneath and causes edge discolouration. Use a flat-weave cotton or indoor-outdoor rug, and check the base monthly for mould spots.
Can I use marble furniture in a child’s bedroom safely?
Yes, with precautions. Choose a marble side table or console with rounded edges (radius 1.5–2 cm) rather than sharp 90° corners. Anchor tall pieces (over 100 cm) to the wall using anti-tip straps — Singapore HDB regulations require this for furniture over 30 kg. Wipe spills within 60 seconds to prevent etching. Place felt pads on the marble surface before toys or art supplies go on top. Keep marble pieces away from bunk bed exit points.
What is the first piece of marble furniture I should buy when furnishing a new condo?
Start with a marble coffee table — it anchors the living room, works with multiple sofa styles, and lasts decades if sealed properly. A 100–120 cm round or 110 × 60 cm rectangular design fits most 4-room HDB and 2-bedroom condo layouts in Singapore. Budget S$1,200–S$3,000 for genuine marble. Add a marble console only after you’ve measured corridor and lift access. MIDHILL’s 10-year structural warranty and free refinishing service suit long-term Singapore ownership.
How does MIDHILL’s export packing protect marble during long shipping to Singapore?
MIDHILL uses engineered timber crates with low-moisture boards, desiccant matched to cargo volume, and a vapour barrier to control mould during the 14–18 day sea voyage from Foshan. Marble and mirror panels travel vertically in padded slots with polished faces never touching — a rigid crate base matters more than extra stone thickness. Crates are tested for stacking compression, racking, edge impact, and point loads, and a buyer can request the dated batch inspection records.
What size marble dining table fits 6 people in a Tampines HDB dining room?
For six adults, aim for a rectangular marble top around 180 cm long by 90 cm wide, which gives each diner about 60 cm of elbow room. Leave at least 90 cm clearance on all sides so chairs can pull out without hitting the wall or sideboard. Most Tampines 4-room HDBs allow this, but measure your dining nook first, then check corridor width if the table is delivered flat-packed.
Is a bed hard to maintain in Singapore's humidity if I pick an upholstered frame?
A fabric or leather bed is not necessarily harder to maintain, but it needs more attention than solid wood because humidity above 80% encourages mould on foam and webbing. Vacuum the base weekly, keep bedrooms air-conditioned at 24°C, and avoid pushing the bed against cold walls in Punggol BTOs where condensation forms. Use a dehumidifier set below 60% RH for best results.
What marble finish hides fingerprints best for a busy Bedok family with kids?
Honed (matte) marble hides fingerprints, water marks and light scratches far better than polished gloss, which shows every smudge. Carrara and light grey honed tops from MIDHILL's Foshan workshop pair well with neutral Scandi palettes and tolerate daily kopi spills if wiped within 20 minutes. Reseal the surface once a year for stain resistance.
Does a navy rubberwood armchair suit a modern Malaysian condo look in Singapore?
Yes, navy rubberwood is a strong match for modern Malaysian condo interiors because the deep tone grounds lighter marble side tables and balances warm timber floors common in Punggol and Jurong units. Rubberwood is a dense, sustainable hardwood that resists warping at 80% RH if you keep it 10 cm from walls. Pair it with brass floor lamps and off-white linen curtains.
How do I care for a armchair in humid weather like Singapore's?
Vacuum the cushion seams weekly using a soft brush, rotate seat cushions monthly so foam dries evenly, and keep the armchair in an air-conditioned room or run a dehumidifier below 60% RH. Wipe the rubberwood or teak frame with a barely damp microfibre cloth, never silicone polish, which causes warranty voids. A written cleaning guide ships with every MIDHILL order.
Will a marble console table yellow over time near my Tampines condo window?
Yellowing on marble is rare and usually comes from wax buildup or silicone polish reacting to UV, not the stone itself. Use only pH-neutral cleaner and a dry microfibre cloth weekly. Position the console away from direct afternoon sun, or sheer the window with linen curtains. White Carrara from reputable suppliers stays bright for decades under normal home conditions.
Can I fit a 200 cm marble console table through my HDB corridor in Bedok?
Standard HDB corridors measure about 1.2 m wide, but the real bottleneck is the door, typically 0.9 m wide and 2.1 m tall. A 200 cm console cannot pass upright. MIDHILL crating keeps stone vertical in padded slots and uses a rigid base, so split delivery is possible. Request knock-down legs and confirm lift door diagonal before confirming the order.
Is Nordic furniture worth it for a small Punggol BTO living room?
Nordic furniture is worth it for small Punggol BTOs because pale oak, clean lines and tapered legs visually open up 90 sqm layouts. Choose pieces with exposed solid wood rather than veneer, and check drawer joinery. MIDHILL applies nitrocellulose lacquer on vertical surfaces and a tougher cross-linked polyurethane on tabletops, so daily use holds up for years.
Is Post-modern bed frame furniture worth it for a master bedroom in Singapore?
Post-modern bed frames with curved headboards and mixed materials work well in larger master bedrooms above 16 sqm, especially in newer Jurong condos with high ceilings. Check that the rubberwood or ash frame is kiln-dried below 12% moisture to resist Singapore humidity. Avoid MDF cores, which swell above 75% RH within two wet seasons.
What rug size pairs with a 120 cm marble coffee table in a Scandinavian condo?
Pick a rug at least 200 by 300 cm, large enough for the front legs of your sofa to sit on the rug while the entire coffee table sits fully on it. This anchors the seating zone in an open Jurong or Punggol living room. A low-pile wool rug in muted beige tones complements honed Carrara marble better than high-pile shaggy textures.
Which paint colour goes with a light grey marble dining table?
Warm whites like Dulux Chantilly White or Jotun Lady Balance 10679 soften the cool grey veins of Carrara marble without clashing. Avoid stark blue-greys, which compete with the stone's undertone. For a Korean minimal look, pair with pale taupe walls and oak floors. Always test a 1 sqm patch on two walls before committing to a full repaint.
L-shape extendable dining table for entryway in a compact HDB, does it work?
An L-shape extendable dining table works surprisingly well in compact HDB entryways because it tucks into a corner and expands only when guests arrive. Look for a 120 cm closed length extending to 160-180 cm, with butterfly leaves that store inside. MIDHILL's Foshan workshop can customise dimensions in five working days once you share a floor plan.
How do I remove kopi stains from honed marble without damaging the sealer?
Blot the spill immediately with dry paper towel, never wipe, as wiping spreads the tannin. Mix a few drops of pH-neutral dish soap in warm water, wipe with a soft cloth, then dry the surface within 5 minutes. Avoid vinegar, lemon juice or CIF, which etch marble and void the MIDHILL 2-year surface warranty. Reseal honed tops every 12 months.
What floor lamp shape suits a Japandi marble side table in a Tampines flat?
Choose a slim arched floor lamp or a paper lantern style around 140-160 cm tall to balance the low horizontal line of a Japandi marble side table. Warm 2700K bulbs soften the cool stone and complement natural linen or cotton shades. Place the lamp 30 cm behind the table so light washes the wall rather than glaring into seating.
How long does MIDHILL marble furniture take to deliver to Singapore after order?
Production runs 25-35 days at the Foshan workshop, then sea freight to Singapore takes another 14-21 days, so budget roughly 6 to 8 weeks door-to-door. GST is collected on the CIF value at Singapore customs, currently 9%. Liftgate delivery to Jurong, Tampines or Punggol condos is included for orders above US$350, with full crating for stacking compression.
Can I leave marble furniture outside on a condo balcony during gatherings?
No, marble should not stay on a balcony long-term because tropical rain is mildly acidic and etches polished surfaces within weeks. Sudden sun-shade shifts also cause thermal stress at the resin veins. For parties, cover the top with a thick tablecloth, then bring it back inside the air-conditioned living room within 2 hours to preserve the sealer.
Which indoor plant is safe to place on a marble console table without scratching?
Choose lightweight ceramic pots with felt pads underneath, housing pothos, peace lilies or snake plants, all of which tolerate air-conditioned condo light. Avoid terracotta with rough bases that scratch polished marble, and never place pots directly onto honed Carrara without a coaster. Wipe up any moisture within 10 minutes to prevent edge staining.
What is the most common styling mistake Singaporeans make with marble furniture?
Pairing polished marble with overly glossy lacquered sideboards, which creates visual glare in compact HDB lighting. Mix matte marble with one satin and one raw timber surface instead. Another mistake is matching marble veins too literally across a dining table and console, making the room feel like a showroom. Vary the veining pattern across pieces.
How does MIDHILL pack marble tops for export to survive Jurong lift handling?
Each marble top travels vertically in a padded slot, with polished faces never touching, on a rigid crate base engineered for stacking compression and edge impact. Low-moisture timber and desiccant matched to cargo volume control mould during the 14-21 day sea voyage to Singapore. A vapour barrier keeps humidity swings away from the stone.
Does the 10-year structural warranty on MIDHILL furniture cover humid HDB conditions?
Yes, the 10-year structural warranty covers frame joints and load-bearing components even in HDB flats with sustained 80% RH, provided you follow the written cleaning guide that ships with every order. The 2-year surface warranty excludes damage from abrasive cleaners, silicone polish, standing water or direct heat, which cause most claims globally.
Should I buy a marble dining table or a solid wood one for a family with toddlers?
For toddlers, a solid wood dining table with a rounded edge is more forgiving because marble chips on impact and feels cold against small elbows. If you still prefer marble, choose a honed finish with a bullnose edge thicker than 25 mm, and use placemats daily. MIDHILL's rubberwood dining sets pair well with marble side cabinets for a mixed-material look.
How wide should curtains be when framing a marble console table under a window?
Curtain panels should measure 1.5 to 3 times the width of the window to frame the marble console properly without looking skimpy. For a typical Jurong condo window of 150 cm, choose two panels of 110-130 cm each. Hang rods 15 cm above the frame and 10 cm wider each side, so light pools gently onto the marble surface.
What should I buy first when furnishing a new Punggol BTO living room around a marble piece?
Buy the largest anchor piece first, usually the marble coffee table or TV console, then measure clearance for sofa and walkway. Next, choose the sofa in a neutral fabric, followed by rug size 200x300 cm or larger, then floor lamp and curtains. MIDHILL's Lecong showroom team turns a buyer dimension schedule into a full specification within five working days.
How do I style a Japandi master bed in a small HDB flat in Singapore?
Anchor the room with a low-profile solid wood platform bed around 180×200 cm, raised roughly 25 cm off the floor so air circulates in our humid climate. Keep two bedside tables, not four. Add one warm linen runner, a single ceramic table lamp, and a 60 cm tall fiddle leaf fig in a stoneware pot. Skip heavy curtains; use light cotton sheers. Leave at least 70 cm walkway on both sides.
What size queen bed do I need for a 3-room Punggol BTO?
A standard queen at 152×191 cm fits a 3-room BTO master bedroom of roughly 3.4 m × 3.0 m, but only if you skip the side drawers on both sides. Allow 60 cm clearance on at least one flank for corridor access, and 35 cm on the other for a slim nightstand. Anything larger, like a 180×200 cm king, usually blocks the wardrobe door swing in newer Punggol layouts.
Will my marble coffee table scratch if I drag a ceramic vase across it?
Yes, unglazed ceramic bases are harder than marble and leave grey scuff marks almost immediately on polished Carrara or Guangxi white tops. Lift, never drag. Stick felt pads (about S$3 for 16 pcs at Daiso) under every object that sits on the stone. Reseal the surface once a year with a pH-neutral marble sealer; humidity near 82 percent in Singapore speeds up surface dulling on unsealed tops.
Can a marble console table fit through an HDB corridor in Bedok?
HDB service cores and corridors are typically 1.2 m wide with doorways of about 0.9 m. Most console tables measure 120–150 cm long and 40 cm deep, which clears the door but blocks the lift. Tilt it vertically and pad the polished face with moving blankets; MIDHILL ships stone vertically in padded slots, so the factory crate base, not thickness, is what protects corners during the Bedok walk-up.
How heavy is a 120 cm marble dining table, and will my Jurong condo lift take it?
A 120 cm round Carrara or Guangxi marble dining table weighs between 95 kg and 130 kg depending on slab thickness, usually 2 cm or 3 cm. Standard Jurong condo passenger lifts handle 1,000 kg, so weight is fine. The real issue is door clearance: most lift cabins measure 0.9 m wide by 2.1 m tall, so the crate must come in under 2 m tall or it will not enter.
Does kopi o stain a black Nero Marquina marble side table?
Black marble hides colour but not acid damage. Kopi o is mildly acidic at around pH 4.8, and even a 10-minute ring will etch the calcium carbonate, leaving a dull patch that no polish removes. Blot within 30 seconds, wipe with a damp microfibre, then dry. Reseal every 12 months. MIDHILL ships a written cleaning instruction with every order because standing liquid is the top warranty claim trigger.
What rug colour works with a beige rubberwood sectional sofa?
A beige rubberwood sectional already carries warm yellow undertones, so choose a rug with grey or muted blue to ground it. A 200×290 cm low-pile wool-poly blend in slate grey suits a typical 4.5 m × 3.2 m condo living room in Punggol or Sengkang. Keep the rug at least 20 cm under the front sofa legs only; full coverage looks fussy and traps dust in our humidity.
Will a marble console table yellow under constant air-conditioning in Singapore?
White and grey marbles do not yellow from cool air. They yellow from iron content reacting to moisture, or from silicone polishes and cigarette smoke. Air-con actually slows that reaction by keeping RH around 55–60 percent. Avoid silicone sprays sold for stone; they build up and turn yellow under UV. Wipe weekly with a damp microfibre and dry. No wax, no Pledge, no oil soap.
What's the best floor lamp to pair with a low marble coffee table?
A low table around 35–40 cm tall needs a tall, slim lamp to balance the room. Pick an arc or tripod floor lamp standing 150–165 cm with a 40 cm drum shade, ideally in matte black or natural rattan. Position it behind the sofa, not beside the table, so it throws light across the marble and catches the veining. Use a 2700K LED bulb, around 800 lumens, for warm ambient light.
Can I leave a marble dining table outdoors on my condo balcony?
No. Even under a covered balcony, Singapore humidity stays above 75 percent year-round and monsoon rain drives sideways water onto stone. Marble absorbs moisture through the underside and edges, causing dark spots and eventual cracking near the support points. Keep dining tables indoors in air-conditioned space. If you need balcony furniture, choose teak or powder-coated aluminium instead. Marble belongs in the dining room, not the planter box area.
Which curtain colour goes with white marble flooring in a Scandinavian condo?
White marble floors bounce a lot of cool light, so warm the windows with oatmeal, sand, or dusty rose linen curtains hung close to the ceiling. Floor-to-ceiling panels in a 280 cm drop suit HDB condo ceilings of 2.8 m. Avoid pure white or grey sheers; they flatten the space. Pair with a slim oak sideboard and one black metal picture light to anchor the Scandinavian palette.
What cushion colours match a Carrara marble coffee table in a modern Malaysian condo?
Carrara's veining runs cool grey-blue on white, so pull cushions in dusty teal, muted terracotta, or warm camel. Stay away from stark white, which competes with the stone, and from busy florals, which fight the veining. A 45×45 cm linen blend in three tones, arranged with one solid and two textured, looks intentional without crowding a typical 3.6 m wide condo sofa.
Should I buy the rug or the marble coffee table first for my new condo?
Buy the rug first, then size the table to it. A common mistake is buying a 120 cm round table for a 200×290 cm rug; proportions collapse and the rug looks like a bath mat. Rule of thumb: the rug should extend at least 20 cm beyond the table on every side, and the front legs of your sofa should sit on the rug. That dictates table size, not the other way round.
