Solid Wood — Questions & Answers

1219 questions answered. Page 18 of 21.
Is a Nordic cherry wood master bed too red for my Scandinavian bedroom?
Cherry deepens from pale salmon-pink to a rich reddish-mahogany within 12 months in Singapore humidity, which can clash with cool Scandi palettes of white, grey and sage. If you love Nordic style, limit cherry to one feature piece and balance with pale ash, linen bedding, and a 200x300 cm wool rug in ivory. Keep cherry away from direct afternoon sun through east-facing condo windows, or the red tone doubles in intensity.
Will a solid oak TV console warp inside my non-aircon Punggol flat?
Yes, if your Punggol flat runs without aircon for weeks, the 28-32°C room swing plus 80% humidity can cup a 180 cm solid oak slab by 3-5 mm. Run a 30L dehumidifier or keep aircon at 24°C, and choose quartersawn oak with a cross-linked polyurethane finish rather than nitrocellulose. Wipe spills within 10 minutes; standing water at edges is the number one warp cause according to warranty claim data.
What rug size and colour goes with a walnut 200cm dining table in a Tampines HDB?
For a 200 cm walnut table seating six, pick a 250x300 cm rug so chairs stay on the carpet when pulled out, roughly 60 cm beyond the table edge on all sides. A vintage-washed Persian in muted terracotta, sage or indigo softens the dark wood without competing. Avoid pure black or pure white rugs which fight walnut's chocolate undertones and show every grain of dropped rice in a HDB dining space.
Which paint colour pairs best with a natural ash wood bedframe in a small condo?
Warm whites like Dulux Whisper White or Jotun Smooth White 1624 let ash grain read clearly without yellow clash. Cool greys such as Jotun City Grey 1088 give a crisp Scandinavian feel but can make pale ash look washed out. Avoid bold navy or emerald feature walls; they fight ash's warm undertones. For a Korean minimal vibe, try a soft putty beige like Nippon ND-157 with linen cream curtains.
Do I need to worry about lift access for a 90cm rubberwood wardrobe in Jurong East?
Standard Jurong East HDB lifts measure roughly 110 cm wide x 140 cm deep with 80 cm doors, so a fully assembled 90 cm wardrobe will not fit. Order a flat-pack wardrobe with detachable doors, drawers and hanging rails, or specify knock-down joinery. Check that the supplier uses cam-lock or dowel systems, not glued panels, so reassembly in your bedroom is straightforward. Confirm packaging dimensions before delivery day.
What is the best wood for a dining table that survives Singapore humidity year-round?
Teak is the gold standard for Singapore humidity because its natural oils resist moisture cycling, but it costs from S$3,500 for a 180 cm table. White oak with quartersawn construction is a strong alternative at S$1,800-S$2,600, provided the finish is cross-linked polyurethane rather than nitrocellulose. Avoid rubberwood for tabletops over 160 cm; it moves too much in 80% humidity and often cups within 18 months.
How long does MIDHILL take to deliver a custom solid wood sideboard to Singapore?
MIDHILL's Foshan workshop builds custom sideboards in 25-30 working days after specification sign-off, then sea-freight to Singapore takes another 18-22 days. Total door-to-door is roughly 6-7 weeks including customs clearance and lift-booking at your HDB block. The 10-year structural warranty covers joinery failure, and a written cleaning instruction ships inside the crate describing the exact lacquer system on your piece.
What cushions should I buy first when styling a new solid wood bedframe?
Start with two sleeping pillows in 100% cotton percale, then add two 50x50 cm Euro shams for back support, followed by one 30x50 cm lumbar cushion. Choose fabrics before paint colours because dye lots vary. For a Korean minimal look, pick ivory linen with one charcoal accent; for Scandinavian, layer oatmeal boucle with a single rust cushion. Buy cushion inserts one size up from covers for a fuller, hotel-style plumpness.
Is a TV console for rental HDB flats worth buying new or should I get secondhand?
For rental flats, a secondhand TV console is risky because solid wood pieces hide cracks, water damage and woodworm. A new MIDHILL console at S$480-S$780 uses low-moisture crate timber and desiccant matched to cargo volume, so mould during the sea voyage is controlled. The 14-day return window also lets you reject transit damage. Landlords usually allow furniture removal at tenancy end, so portable 120-150 cm consoles suit rentals best.
How do I clean a sticky polyurethane dining table after a curry spill?
Wipe curry within 5 minutes using a damp microfibre cloth and a pH-neutral wood soap diluted 1:10 with water. Never use vinegar, lemon, or silicone polish, because high-pH cleaners and silicones are the top warranty claim causes. Stubborn residue lifts with a paste of baking soda and water applied gently for 30 seconds, then wiped dry. Buff along the grain direction, never across it, to avoid haze marks.
What floor lamp height works with a 180cm solid wood headboard in a condo?
Aim for a floor lamp 150-160 cm tall when using a 180 cm headboard, so the bulb sits at eye level when seated against the pillows. Arc lamps reaching 170-180 cm work if you want to read across the bed. Choose matte black or brushed brass to complement walnut or ash frames. Avoid oversized drum shades over 40 cm, which crowd bedside tables in compact 10-12 sqm HDB master bedrooms.
Can I leave a solid teak coffee table on my balcony during afternoon thunderstorms?
No, despite teak's weather resistance, Singapore's combination of direct UV and 80-90% humidity swings will grey and roughen the surface within 3 months. Keep teak furniture under cover or bring it indoors during storms. Apply teak oil every 6 months if it lives outdoors, or accept the silver patina. Indoor aircon rooms at 23-25°C keep teak stable for decades without any oil treatment at all.
Will a leather bedframe peel in a Punggol flat that runs aircon all night?
Bonded or faux leather peels in 12-24 months under continuous aircon because the dry 40-50% humidity dehydrates the polyurethane coating. Full-grain or top-grain leather survives Singapore aircon indefinitely if you condition it every 3 months with a pH-neutral leather balm. Keep the bed away from direct aircon airflow; aim the vent at the wall, not the headboard. Budget from S$2,200 for genuine full-grain options.
What indoor plants pair well with a dark walnut TV console without looking cluttered?
Choose one statement plant rather than several small pots, because dark walnut already grounds the wall. A 120 cm fiddle leaf fig in a terracotta pot, or a low ZZ plant in matte white, balances the console's weight. Avoid trailing pothos on top of the console, which traps moisture against the wood edge and causes warranty-voiding water damage within months. Keep soil 15 cm away from the wood surface at all times.
How wide should curtains be for floor-to-ceiling windows in a modern Malaysian condo?
Multiply window width by 2 to 2.5 for proper curtain fullness, so a 240 cm window needs 480-600 cm of fabric. Mount the rod 15 cm below the ceiling and extend 20 cm beyond each side to make windows appear larger. Linen or cotton blends breathe better than polyester in Singapore humidity and resist mildew. Neutral oatmeal or warm white pairs cleanly with walnut or ash frames without colour clashing.
What is the typical weight of a solid wood king-size bedframe, and will my HDB floor handle it?
A solid ash or oak king bedframe weighs 60-90 kg fully assembled, well within HDB floor load limits of 150 kg per sqm for bedrooms. Concentrated weight on the centre support matters more than total weight, so confirm the slat system spreads load across at least 6-8 contact points. MIDHILL frames use 12 slats with a centre beam, distributing roughly 75 kg across the HDB floor safely over years.
Are extension dining tables worth the extra cost for a small Singapore home?
Extension tables cost 25-40% more than fixed versions but save you from buying two tables across 10 years. A 160 cm table extending to 220 cm seats four daily and eight during Chinese New Year, fitting a standard Tampines dining area. Choose butterfly-leaf designs over separate leaves, because stored leaves get lost in HDB storerooms. Confirm the extension mechanism is metal-tracked, not plastic, for longevity beyond 8-10 years.
What common styling mistakes do Singaporeans make with solid wood furniture?
Three mistakes appear constantly: placing dark walnut against bright white walls with no warm tone to bridge them, hanging pendant lights too high above dining tables (aim 70-80 cm above the surface), and crowding a small HDB living room with multiple heavy wood pieces. One hero piece per room reads better than three competing ones. Add a textile layer, such as a linen throw or wool rug, to soften all-wood schemes.
Does MIDHILL offer GST-inclusive pricing and how are warranty claims handled in Singapore?
MIDHILL quotes include 9% GST for Singapore deliveries, and full FOB plus freight is itemised before payment. Warranty claims require photos and your order number; surface issues fall under the 2-year surface warranty, while joint cracking or leg failure falls under the 10-year structural warranty. Refinishing is offered lifetime at cost, meaning you pay materials and shipping only. Each order ships with a dated batch record you can request.
Japandi bed frame vs platform bed — what actually suits a 4-room HDB in Tampines?
A Japandi bed frame typically sits 25–35 cm off the floor with a low solid-oak or ash headboard, which keeps the visual weight low in a 4-room HDB master bedroom of roughly 12 sqm. Skip a tall upholstered platform if your ceiling is the standard 2.8 m — it closes the room. Pair it with 200 thread-count linen bedding in off-white or stone, and your usual ceiling fan will read as intentional rather than cramped.
Is Japandi furniture furniture worth it for a small Singapore condo?
For HDB and condo rooms under 14 sqm, Japandi furniture is worth the spend because the proportions are designed for tight footprints — a 150 cm dining table seats four without crowding a 3 m corridor, and sideboards tend to stay under 45 cm deep. You pay more per piece than flat-pack, but you avoid the wobble that comes with engineered wood after year two of monsoon humidity.
Will a solid teak dining table actually survive my aircon running 24/7 in Punggol?
Teak tolerates constant aircon better than oak or ash because its natural oil content slows moisture exchange, but you should still keep the indoor RH between 45–55 percent. Wipe condensation off the edge within 10 minutes after meals, and rotate the table 180 degrees every three months so any UV from the window fades evenly. Teak will silver-grey outdoors but indoors it stays honey-brown.
What rug size goes under a 2 m solid wood dining table?
Your rug needs to clear the chairs even when pulled out — that means 2.4 x 3 m minimum for a 6-seater. In a Jurong East 5-room flat, this usually leaves 30–40 cm of bare tile on each side, which is fine. Pick a low-pile wool or flatweave so chair legs do not catch; a shaggy rug under a dining table is the most common pairing mistake.
Is a sectional sofa worth the price for a Singapore family?
A sectional is worth the price if your living room is at least 3.2 m wide and 3.8 m long — anything smaller and you will bruise your shins daily. For a Punggol BTO family of four, a 240 cm L-shape in performance fabric outlasts a 3-seater plus armchair combination because there are fewer seams to split and one fewer join to wobble after year three.
Can a 2.4 m solid wood dining table fit through my Jurong East HDB corridor?
A 2.4 m table will not fit flat through a standard HDB corridor, which is about 1.2 m wide and 2.4 m tall with a 90-degree turn at the lift lobby. Most Jurong East blocks allow a tilt-and-roll through the service lift if the longest piece is under 2.1 m. Confirm with your Town Council the service lift dimensions — many are 1.5 m deep x 2.0 m high internally.
What paint colour pairs best with an ash or oak Japandi wardrobe?
Stay in the warm-neutral family — Dulux Forest Dawn 02YY 39/130 or Nippon Timeless Off-White OD-7-3 — both sit comfortably behind pale ash without going yellow. Avoid cool greys above N7, because they fight the honey tone in oak and make the wardrobe look orange under 4000K downlights. Always sample a 1 x 1 m patch on the actual wall for 48 hours before committing.
Does a solid wood bed frame from a Taobao-style seller really hold up in Singapore?
Most sub-S$800 bed frames sold through Daigou channels use rubberwood with a 0.4 mm veneer over MDF — once the dehumidifier fails during a wet December, the veneer lifts within 18 months. A workshop like MIDHILL, operating from Foshan since 2008, kiln-dries timber to 8–10 percent moisture content before assembly, which is the real reason their 10-year structural warranty is publishable.
boho furniture guide — how do I keep it from looking cluttered in a small flat?
Boho furniture works in a Singapore flat only if you cap it at three textures: rattan, raw wood, and one woven textile. Pick a 120 cm rattan sideboard, a solid wood coffee table under 100 cm, and a single jute rug — anything beyond that and your Tampines 4-room looks like a pasar malam stall. Stick to a sand/clay palette so the eye reads the room as one space.
What's the first piece I should buy when furnishing an empty Singapore condo?
Buy the dining table first, not the sofa. A 160 cm solid wood table anchors the open-plan living-dining zone and tells you the sofa length, rug size, and pendant drop within one decision. Most Punggol BTOs leave a 2.8 x 2.4 m dining zone — measure yours before anything lands, because returning a table costs more than swapping cushions later.
Will a Korean minimal coffee table scratch my vinyl flooring?
Korean minimal tables usually sit on small felt pads, but the pads compress within six months under a 25 kg oak top. Swap them for silicone furniture cups from Shopee at S$6 for a pack of 16 — they spread the load better. Lift the table to mop, never drag it, and check the feet quarterly because Singapore's vinyl expands up to 2 mm in September humidity.
How do I stop my solid oak TV console from cracking in a non-aircon Jurong condo?
Run a small dehumidifier set to 55 percent RH in the living room — that single device prevents 80 percent of solid-wood cracking claims. Keep the console 30 cm clear of the window so afternoon sun does not bake one side, and never rest a hot cup directly on the lacquer. Wipe spills within 5 minutes; standing water at the edge is the fastest way to lift the finish.
What cushion size works on a 220 cm Scandinavian sofa?
Use two 55 x 55 cm and one 45 x 45 cm on a 220 cm sofa — the mix prevents the rigid symmetrical look that dates a Scandinavian room. In a Jurong East condo with a 3 m sofa wall, add a 35 x 50 cm lumbar cushion in a contrasting weave. Rotate inserts weekly so they keep shape; Singapore humidity flattens polyester fill within 18 months if you skip this.
Can I request my furniture's batch inspection record before delivery?
Yes — any workshop running multi-stage QC with dated batch records, including MIDHILL, will share photos and the production sheet for your specific order on request. The document lists timber moisture readings, joinery checks at three stages, and final finish inspection. Ask for it before the 14-day return window closes, because surface claims after that period fall under the 2-year surface warranty.
Do solid wood sideboards need wall anchoring in HDB flats?
Any sideboard taller than 90 cm or heavier than 40 kg must be wall-anchored in an HDB flat — this is a HDB renovation guideline, not a suggestion. A full 2 m oak sideboard can weigh 70–90 kg loaded, and a tip-over during the December monsoon can crack your plaster wall. Use two L-brackets into the brickwork, never drywall anchors; the plaster in resale flats is only 9 mm thick.
What's the difference between nitrocellulose lacquer and polyurethane for dining tables?
Nitrocellulose lacquer feels warmer and is easier to refinish — a craftsman can spot-repair a scratch in 30 minutes. Polyurethane (cross-linked) is tougher against Singapore's humidity cycles and heat from hot serving dishes but is harder to patch. MIDHILL often finishes horizontal dining tops in PU and vertical legs in NC, because the wear pattern on each surface is different.
Can I keep my solid wood furniture near the kitchen in a condo?
Keep it at least 1.5 m from the cooking zone, because cooking steam cycles humidity around the dining set every evening. A sideboard closer than that will absorb cooking oil into the grain within six months and turn the finish cloudy. If layout forces it closer, run the cooker hood on high for 5 minutes after each use to clear airborne moisture.
What plant pairs best with a Scandinavian or Japandi room?
A single 1.2 m fiddle-leaf fig or a strelitzia in a matte clay pot — never two large plants, because the eye needs one calm anchor. Avoid bonsai on the coffee table in a Tampines HDB; the scale fights the sofa. Refresh the soil top with white pebbles every quarter so the floor does not catch falling debris during the December rainy spell.
Is it safe to store solid wood furniture in a self-storage unit during reno?
Only if the unit is climate-controlled to 45–60 percent RH — a non-AC storeroom in Singapore can hit 85 percent RH in November, which warps panels within 8 weeks. Crates shipped from Foshan are engineered for stacking and racking but not for tropical sheds. If you must store, ask for a container with a vapour barrier and desiccant matched to the cargo volume, the same packing spec MIDHILL uses for export.
What's the most common styling mistake Singaporeans make with new wood furniture?
Buying everything in one weekend before the room is painted or the rug is down — the wood tone ends up fighting the floor, and the rug never matches the sofa legs. Stage the room in this order: paint first, flooring/rug second, then largest wood piece, then soft furnishings last. In a Punggol BTO, allow at least three weeks between paint cure and furniture delivery; fresh paint off-gases for 14 days.
Is solid teak ok for a 3-seater bed frame for kids room?
Teak is excellent for a kids' room three-seater bed frame — durable, low warping, and tolerates Singapore humidity around 80% RH. A standard kids three-seater runs 120x200 cm, fitting a HDB master bedroom with 30 cm clearance each side. Teak prices start near S$1,800; oak equivalents around S$1,400. Round off all corners and add a centre support slat for nightly jumping.
What furniture for small apartment under 80 sqm works best?
For HDBs and condos under 80 sqm in Punggol or Jurong, prioritise pieces under 45 cm depth — a 160 cm extendable dining table, a 180 cm 3-seater with slim 75 cm arms, and a 40 cm-deep TV console. Storage beds with 30 cm gas-lift clearance replace bulky wardrobes. Choose raised-leg solid wood so floors read larger, and limit dark walnut to one statement piece per room.
Does solid oak TV console warp if my aircon is on 24/7?
Oak is dimensionally stable at 22–26 °C and 50–60% RH — typical Singapore aircon conditions. Place the console at least 1 m from the aircon vent to avoid cold-dry air on one side. Keep humidity between 45–65% with a small dehumidifier. A 150 cm oak console weighs roughly 35–45 kg and ships with felt-lined feet to protect vinyl flooring common in Jurong condos.
What's the best wood for Singapore's humid climate, teak or rubberwood?
Teak wins for outdoor and bathroom-adjacent pieces — its natural oils resist 85% RH humidity common in Tampines morning air. Rubberwood (hevea) is kiln-dried and works well indoors if sealed with polyurethane; it costs 40% less than teak. For a HDB dining table used daily, both perform; teak for longevity beyond 15 years, rubberwood for budget under S$1,500 including GST.
My room guide: what to buy first when furnishing a new BTO?
Start with the three biggest pain points: a 160 cm extendable dining table, a queen storage bed with gas-lift, and a 180 cm 3-seater sofa. These consume the most floor area and lock your colour scheme. Measure your lift door, corridor width, and doorframe before any order — typical BTO corridor in Punggol is 1.2 m wide. Buy rugs last; they should frame existing pieces, not lead them.
Is Korean minimal style ok for a solid wood dining table?
Korean minimal pairs beautifully with solid oak or ash — pale tones, straight edges, and visible joinery echo the style's honesty. Avoid heavy carved teak or American country grain; they fight the clean lines. A 180x90 cm oak table in a natural matte finish suits a Scandinavian-Korean hybrid condo in Sengkang. Keep chair legs slim (under 4 cm) so the room reads airy and uncluttered.
Does the 10-year warranty actually cover Singapore humidity damage?
Yes, the structural 10-year warranty covers joint failure, cracking from kiln-dried timber movement, and frame warping under normal household conditions (RH 45–65%). It excludes surface marks from abrasive cleaners, silicone polish exposure, and standing water — these are the top three claim rejections in Singapore. Keep the written cleaning guide that ships with the order; you'll need it if filing any claim.
What paint colour goes with a walnut wood bed frame?
Walnut reads warm-orange undertones, so pair it with off-white walls (Dulux Antique White USA or similar) rather than cool greys. For a Japandi look, try warm clay (Nippon Bude Brown) on the accent wall behind the headboard. Avoid stark whites — they make walnut look muddy. In a Tampines 4-room HDB, light ceiling + walnut bed + rattan lamp creates the calmest balance.
Can a solid wood sofa fit through a narrow condo corridor?
A standard 3-seater American country sofa is 210–230 cm wide — too wide for most Singapore condo corridors (typically 1.2–1.5 m). MIDHILL ships its 3-seater sofas in three modules: left arm, middle, right arm. Each module clears a 90 cm door and weighs under 45 kg for safe lift handling in Bedok and Jurong East blocks. Reassembly takes about 20 minutes with the included hex keys.
What's a good rug size for a 180 cm sofa in a HDB living room?
Pick a rug at least 200x280 cm so the front sofa legs sit on it — anything smaller makes the room look chopped up. For a 5-room HDB in Tampines with a 180 cm 3-seater, a 240x300 cm wool-viscose rug works best. Keep 30–45 cm of bare floor showing around the edges. Dark walnut frames pair with cream rugs; oak frames with charcoal or terracotta.
Are leather bed frames ok in a non-aircon bedroom?
Leather bed frames struggle in non-aircond Singapore bedrooms where RH often hits 80–85%. The leather absorbs moisture, then peels within 18 months. If you must skip aircon, run a 12-hour dehumidifier cycle and choose full-grain leather with a polyurethane backing (not bonded). A fabric or solid wood headboard survives humid Punggol nights far better; reserve leather for aircon master bedrooms.
How do I clean a glossy lacquered wood table without swirl marks?
Swirl marks come from one-step polish products or dirty microfibre cloths. Follow MIDHILL's hand-rubbed gloss sequence: wipe with a damp microfibre, dry immediately, then buff with a clean dry cloth in straight lines, not circles. Never use silicone polish or vinegar. The written cleaning guide shipped with every order lists approved pH-neutral cleaners for Singapore tap-water conditions.
Is a corner sofa worth it for a compact Singapore living room?
Only if your room is at least 3.2 m wide on the short axis. A 240x180 cm corner unit fills 4.4 sqm, leaving little walking space in a typical 90 sqm condo. Most Tampines and Sengkang families do better with a 200 cm 3-seater + single armchair. If you entertain weekly, choose modular corners with detachable ends so the piece can split for delivery.
How is solid wood packed for Singapore export?
MIDHILL crates use low-moisture timber (under 12% MC), desiccant sachets matched to cargo volume, and a vapour barrier to block sea-air humidity. Frames are corner-braced for stacking compression; glass and marble travel vertically in padded slots with polished faces never touching. Every crate passes a point-load and racking test before Foshan port loading — buyers can request dated batch photos for their own order.
What's the difference between ash and oak for furniture?
Ash has a smoother, more uniform grain and bends slightly better — good for curved chair frames. Oak shows wider grain rays and is heavier (about 750 kg/m³ vs ash at 670 kg/m³). Both handle Singapore humidity well when kiln-dried to 8–10% MC. Ash looks cleaner in Scandinavian or Korean minimal rooms; oak carries Scandinavian farmhouse weight. Price difference is usually 10–15% in favour of ash.
Can I see the MIDHILL showroom in Lecong before ordering?
Yes, the Lecong (Foshan) showroom opens by appointment — Singapore buyers typically book two working days ahead. Bring a dimension schedule: lift door width, corridor measurements, and a floor plan with ceiling heights. Buyers who arrive with measurements leave with a written specification within five working days, plus dated batch records and production photos for their specific order.
How do I style a Japandi bed in a small HDB flat?
Keep the bed frame in light oak or ash, around 180 cm wide, so two side tables of 45 cm still leave a 60 cm walking path. Pair it with linen bedding in off-white, one black ceramic table lamp, and a 160×230 cm flatweave rug that sits 30 cm under the bed. Avoid heavy curtains—go bamboo or sheer. This reads Japandi without crowding a 12 sq m bedroom in Tampines or Bedok.
What is a good 3-seater accent chair for entryway in a Singapore HDB?
Choose a 3-seater accent chair around 165 cm wide with a solid ash or rubberwood frame and a 45 cm seat depth, so it fits a typical HDB entryway 1.2–1.5 m wide. Skinny tapered legs in black metal keep it light visually. Add a 120×60 cm shoe bench opposite and a round mirror above. Avoid deep sofas—passers-by will bruise shins near the door.
Is the Italian light luxury extendable dining table from Saudi Arabia worth shipping to Singapore?
Italian light luxury extendable tables from Saudi suppliers run SGD 4,800–7,200 landed, while a Foshan-made equivalent in solid ash or walnut with Italian PU finish costs SGD 1,800–2,600 including GST. Both ship in wooden crates with desiccant, but Saudi suppliers add 25–35 days to a Jurong address. For a 160–220 cm extending table seating 6–8, the Foshan value is hard to beat.
How do I pick a TV console for pet owner households in Singapore?
Skip high-gloss lacquer that shows every paw print—choose a matte PU or oiled solid oak console around 180 cm wide, 40 cm deep. Round the corners (radius 2 cm minimum) so a Labrador tail does not split the edge. Add cable cutouts to hide chewable cords, and weight the back so it stays upright if a cat jumps on it. Midhill's Pet-Safe line uses these specs.
Will a solid rubberwood bed frame crack under Singapore aircon every night?
Singapore's 23°C aircon is fine—wood actually moves less in cool, stable air than in our 32°C daytime humidity. The real risk is the swing: balcony door open at 6 pm, bedroom door open by 9 pm, humidity jumps from 55% to 85%. Choose rubberwood that has been kiln-dried to 8–10% MC, sealed on all six sides with PU, and acclimatise 72 hours before assembly.
