What paint colour goes with walnut wood furniture in a resale HDB flat?
Walnut furniture looks best against warm neutrals like Dulux Natural White (30YY 75/056) or a soft greige such as Nippon Timeless Grey. Avoid blue-grey walls, which clash with walnut’s red undertones in our warm tropical light. For resale flats in Bedok and Toa Payoh, painting one feature wall in a muted clay tone (Nippon Warm Clay 5YR 41/245) frames the walnut nicely. Test a 1 m² patch on the wall for 24 hours before committing.
Are extendable dining tables worth it for a 5-room Punggol HDB?
Yes, if you regularly host 6–8 people. A 140 cm extending to 200 cm table suits a 5-room Punggol HDB dining zone of about 2.4 x 3 m. Check the extension mechanism is metal-tracked, not plastic — plastic warps after two monsoon seasons. The extra 60 cm adds roughly S$220 to S$380 versus fixed length. Store leaves flat under a bed to prevent cupping from humidity, and oil the tracks with a dry silicone spray twice a year.
How heavy is a king size solid wood bed frame, and can HDB stairs take it?
A king size solid wood bed frame weighs 70–95 kg depending on species. HDB stairs in blocks like those in Jurong East routinely handle well over that per step, but the issue is manoeuvring around the corner landing, which is typically 1.2 x 2.4 m. MIDHILL frames ship in four sub-assemblies, each under 30 kg, so two movers can carry them up. The 10-year structural warranty covers rail joinery and centre beam integrity against humidity cracking.
What rug size works with a 220 cm three-seater sofa in Tampines?
Choose a 240 x 300 cm rug, which is roughly 20 cm wider than the sofa on each side. In Tampines HDB living rooms averaging 3.6 x 4.2 m, this gives a balanced frame without crowding the walkway. Avoid 200 x 300 cm rugs, which look too small under a 220 cm sofa. A low-pile wool or performance viscose beats cotton here, because cotton absorbs humidity and feels damp between June and September monsoon weeks.
Do you offer GST-inclusive pricing for Singapore buyers?
All MIDHILL prices quoted to Singapore customers include the 9% GST line item on the commercial invoice, so there are no surprise charges at your door. For orders above US$350 (about S$475) shipping is free to a single Singapore address via sea freight, typically arriving 18–25 days after production finishes at the Foshan workshop. A 14-day return window applies once the piece is delivered and inspected in its original export crate.
Which floor lamp pairs best with a Scandinavian dining chair set?
A 150–165 cm tripod floor lamp in matte black or natural oak pairs cleanly with Scandinavian dining chairs, especially those in light oak with paper cord seats. Position it 1.4 m behind the chair backs so the bulb clears seated head height. Use a warm 2700K LED bulb under 8W; anything brighter feels clinical. In a Singapore condo with 2.8 m ceilings, a tripod base is safer than a marble one, which can topple during monsoon door-slam gusts.
How do I clean sticky fingerprints off a lacquered console without ruining the finish?
Use a soft microfibre cloth lightly dampened with plain water, then dry immediately. Never use silicone polishes, Mr Muscle, or Magic Eraser — these are the top three causes of warranty claims, not actual use damage. For stubborn marks, add one drop of pH-neutral dish soap per 250 ml water. A written cleaning instruction ships with every MIDHILL order specifying this, since Singapore’s high humidity makes sticky residue bond faster to nitrocellulose lacquer.
What is the best curtain colour for a room with dark walnut floors?
For dark walnut floors, choose linen-look curtains in ivory, oatmeal or soft sand — colours that bounce tropical daylight back into the room rather than absorbing it. Avoid matching brown tones, which flatten the space. In a Jurong or Punggol unit with west sun, line the curtains with a light dim-out backing to protect walnut from UV fade. Mount rods 15 cm below the ceiling and extend 20 cm past each window frame for a taller room feel.
How do Korean minimal and Japandi interiors actually differ in a small flat?
Korean minimal leans cooler — white-oiled oak, thin black metal frames, fewer plants, and a single accent colour like sage or muted terracotta. Japandi blends that Korean restraint with warmer Japanese touches: visible wood grain, washi-paper lamps, and a slightly lived-in feel with one or two handmade ceramics. In a 60 sqm Bedok or Tampines flat, Japandi reads cosier, Korean minimal reads more spacious. Pick Japandi if your unit has lots of natural light, Korean minimal if it faces a shaded corridor.
Are velvet sofas a mistake in Singapore’s climate?
Velvet sofas work in Singapore if you choose performance velvet with a tight weave and a removable, washable cover. Avoid cotton velvet, which absorbs monsoon humidity and feels clammy by August. Vacuum weekly with a soft brush attachment and run the aircon to keep RH below 65%. Dark emerald and rust velvet hide sweat marks better than light grey. For a HDB living room, a 200 cm three-seater in performance velvet is manageable; anything deeper than 95 cm will crowd the corridor.
What cushion colours go with a green leather master bed?
A green leather master bed pairs best with cushions in cream, dusty camel, or muted brass tones — colours that warm up the green without competing. Avoid pink, which fights emerald, and pure white, which feels clinical. Two 45 x 45 cm linen cushions in front of two 30 x 50 cm bolster shapes in a deeper forest green layer nicely. In a Singapore master bedroom, choose cushion covers with hidden zips so the daily aircon cycle does not stress the seams over time.
How wide is a standard HDB service yard, and will a washer fit alongside a cabinet?
A standard HDB service yard is about 1.2 m wide x 2.4 m deep, sometimes 1.5 m wide in newer Punggol and Tengah flats. A front-loader washer (typically 60 cm deep) plus a 35 cm slim cabinet fits comfortably across the 1.2 m width with 25 cm clearance for venting. Measure the door at 0.9 m wide before ordering tall cabinets. MIDHILL service yard cabinets ship at 35 cm deep specifically for this reason, so they slot beside the washer without blocking the door swing.
What indoor plants work next to a solid wood TV console without scratching it?
Low-light, low-drip plants work best: a ZZ plant in a heavy ceramic pot, a sansevieria, or a fiddle leaf fig in a weighted base. Always keep the pot on a separate tray, never directly on the lacquer — standing water under a pot is a top cause of edge swelling warranty claims. Rotate the plant weekly so humidity does not build on one side of the console. In a Tampines or Bedok HDB with afternoon sun through the window, the ZZ plant tolerates the light best.
Does a hand-rubbed gloss finish scratch easily in a condo with kids?
A hand-rubbed gloss finish from MIDHILL uses a sequence of progressively finer abrasives, paste on a felt block, buff, and swirl-mark removal — it is not a single polish coat, so it is more repairable than machine gloss. That said, it still shows micro-scratches. Use felt pads under everything, lift objects instead of dragging, and avoid silicone polishes which actually soften the lacquer over time. For HDBs with toddlers, consider satin instead — it hides small marks far better than mirror gloss.
What is the typical delivery timeline from Foshan to a Jurong East condo?
From the Foshan workshop, allow 7 working days for a specification to be finalised after your dimensions schedule arrives, then 18–25 days sea freight to Singapore port, plus 3–5 days for customs clearance, final-mile delivery, and lift booking at your Jurong East block. Total door-to-door is roughly 28–37 days. The export crate uses low-moisture timber plus desiccant matched to cargo volume, which prevents the mould issues that often hit long sea shipments during Singapore’s monsoon window.
Is French neoclassical armchair furniture worth it for a humid HDB?
A neoclassical armchair with a carved solid wood frame (mahogany or beech) handles Tampines humidity far better than a flat-pack MDF replica. Upholstered seats should use leather or performance fabric, not raw cotton. Keep the chair 10cm away from the air-con vent so the lacquered surface stays even. A small dehumidifier set to 55% RH protects carved joins from swelling.
What size shoe cabinet do I need for a 4-room HDB in Singapore?
For a 4-room flat in Bedok or Punggol, a 90cm-wide two-tier cabinet holds about 18–24 pairs, which suits a couple plus occasional guests. If your family cycles trainers and work shoes daily, step up to a 120cm three-tier unit — roughly 30 pairs. Always measure the entrance corridor first: most HDB doors are 90–95cm wide, so anything above 100cm must come in flat-packed.
Best accent chair size guide for a small HDB living room?
For a 4-room HDB living room of about 18 sqm, an accent chair should be 70–78cm wide, 75–80cm deep and a seat height of 42–45cm so it lines up with a standard 90cm sofa. Anything deeper will block your walkway. In Jurong East flats with narrow corridors, choose armless or low-arm designs so the chair does not catch when the door swings open.
Where can I find a solid wood desk that fits a Punggol HDB lift?
Punggol HDB service lifts measure roughly 1.1m wide by 1.4m deep with a 80cm door, so a 160cm x 80cm solid wood desk will not fit assembled. Order flat-pack with a knock-down top of two 80cm halves. MIDHILL ships its Lecong-made desks with hardware bagged per panel and a printed cleaning guide — Foshan workshop since 2008, with a 10-year structural warranty and 14-day returns.
How long does wardrobe delivery take to a Tampines HDB flat?
Standard wardrobe delivery to Tampines from a Singapore warehouse takes 3–5 working days, while direct factory orders from Foshan run 35–45 days by sea plus 7 days customs clearance. Lift access must be confirmed — most HDB lifts in Tampines North hold a 2.4m x 1.4m wardrobe panel only when stood upright. White-glove installation adds about S$80–120 per piece.
What's a good curtain length for a floor-to-ceiling HDB window in Punggol?
HDB windows in newer Punggol BTOs are about 2.4m tall, so order curtains at 2.6m drop for a 5cm hover above the floor. Use a track that mounts inside the ceiling recess, not on the wall — it hides the curtain tape. Pick a 100% polyester fabric; cotton absorbs moisture in our climate and ends up with mildew rings within a year.
Is a French loveseat too wide for a 4-room HDB corridor?
A French loveseat is usually 140–155cm wide, which is too deep to swing through a standard HDB corridor corner. The door leaf is about 90cm, so the piece must come flat-packed. Measure the lift inside too: a 1.1m x 1.4m service lift only fits the seat frame if you remove the legs. Plan the re-assembly before the movers arrive, not after.
Can I use a Japandi low table in a humid Singapore bedroom?
Yes, but pick one with cross-linked polyurethane finishing rather than basic nitrocellulose — it resists our 80% RH nights much better. Oak or ash tops are fine if you keep the room under 60% RH with a dehumidifier. In a 12 sqm Bedok bedroom, a 90cm x 60cm table works without crowding the walkway. Avoid oil-only finishes that need monthly wax in this climate.
How do I stop a solid wood dining table from cracking in Tampines?
Tampines afternoon humidity swings between 65% and 90% RH, which is what cracks solid wood. Run a dehumidifier set to 55% RH in the dining area and never aim the air-con straight at the table. Place coasters under every cup — standing water on the edge raises the grain. Re-oil the top every 9 months with a food-safe hard wax oil, not silicone polish.
What's the first piece to buy when furnishing a small HDB?
Start with the bed and wardrobe, because they are the largest two items and dictate every other measurement. In a 4-room flat, choose a queen bed (152cm x 188cm) and a 180cm three-door wardrobe so the room still has a 60cm walkway. Buy everything else after those land, otherwise you end up with cushions that fight the sofa length.
Scandinavian sofa vs Korean minimal sofa for a Jurong condo — which ages better?
A Scandinavian sofa in performance fabric (mostly polyester or linen blend) ages better in a Jurong condo because the loose covers can be washed at 30°C. Korean minimal sofas tend to use fixed boucle or velvet that stains in our humidity and cannot be re-covered. Pick a kiln-dried birch frame over rubberwood — it holds a screw joint 3x longer in tropical conditions.
What rug size pairs with a 240cm sofa in a condo living room?
A 240cm sofa needs at least a 200cm x 300cm rug so the front legs sit on the rug and the back legs sit off — that anchors the seating zone. In a Punggol Waterway condo with 18 sqm living room, going any smaller makes the rug look like a bath mat. Pick a low-pile wool or flatweave; thick shags trap moisture against vinyl flooring.
How do I match a floor lamp to a Scandinavian dining table?
A Scandinavian dining table of 200cm takes a paper or linen drum pendant at 50–60cm diameter, hung 70cm above the table top. In a Tampines flat with 2.7m ceilings, that leaves 2m clearance under the lamp — enough not to glare at seated guests. Pick a warm 2700K bulb; anything above 3000K turns oak tops orange and clashes with neutral walls.
Common paint colour mistakes when styling a modern Malaysian condo?
The biggest mistake is picking a cool grey for a north-facing condo in Jurong — it ends up looking blue by evening. Use a warm greige (Dulux 90YR 73/029 or similar) instead, which holds its tone from morning sun to night lamp light. Don't paint the ceiling pure white either; a 5% grey keeps the room from feeling clinical and matches Malaysian condo wood trim.
What cushion pairing works with a beige linen sofa?
With a beige linen sofa, use two textured cushions in oat boucle, one in sage linen, and one patterned cushion with terracotta accents — odd numbers always look intentional. Size matters: 50cm x 50cm for a 220cm sofa, 45cm x 45cm for anything smaller. Rotate weekly so the sun fading is even across all four sides in our tropical UV.
What indoor plants survive a Jurong HDB with only a window?
Snake plant, ZZ plant and pothos all survive a north-facing Jurong HDB window with no direct sun. Use a 15cm self-watering pot so you don't flood the vinyl floor — standing water lifts the vinyl joints within a week. Place taller plants in rattan or solid wood planters to match Scandinavian or Japandi furniture; avoid shiny plastic pots that cheapen the look.
Wardrobe delivery Singapore HDB — do I need to book the lift?
For a 200cm or wider wardrobe delivery to a Singapore HDB, you should book the service lift slot via the Town Council at least 3 working days ahead. Standard lifts in Tampines and Bedok blocks are only 1.1m x 1.4m, so anything wider must come flat-packed or be tilted vertically — confirm with the supplier before paying for white-glove delivery, which runs S$80–120.
What finish type holds up best in Singapore's humidity?
Cross-linked polyurethane (PU) holds up best in our 80% average humidity because it cross-links into a tighter film than nitrocellulose (NC) lacquer. NC feels softer but whitens if water sits on the edge. For a Bedok condo dining table, ask the maker which system is on the horizontal surfaces — many workshops use NC on verticals and PU on tops, and that matters for warranty.
How do I claim a warranty if my furniture gets damaged?
File the claim with your order number and clear photos of the damaged area within 14 days of delivery. Most furniture warranty claims are actually cleaning damage — silicone polish, abrasive cream or standing water — so keep the printed cleaning instruction that ships with the order. MIDHILL records dated batch inspections and a buyer can request the records for their own shipment.
Are flat-pack wardrobes weaker than assembled ones?
No, a flat-pack wardrobe with proper cam-lock dowels and corner braces is structurally identical once built — sometimes stronger, because the joints are tightened at home rather than racked during shipping. In HDBs, a knock-down 200cm wardrobe also gets through corridors and lifts that an assembled unit never would. Just retighten every fitting after the first month of humidity settling.
What ceiling fan size works with a Japandi low ceiling?
A Japandi room with a 2.7m HDB ceiling needs a 48-inch (122cm) DC fan, mounted with a 15cm down-rod so blades sit about 2.4m above the floor. Anything larger wobbles at low speed and looks oversized against low-profile furniture. Pick a wooden-blade fan in walnut or oak to match the Japandi palette rather than a white plastic builder-grade unit.
How much clearance do I need around a queen bed in a small room?
A queen bed (152cm x 188cm) needs at least 60cm walkway on one side and 30cm on the other, otherwise you cannot change sheets. In a 10 sqm Bedok bedroom, that leaves about 90cm for a wardrobe — enough for a 60cm-deep two-door unit. Skip the bedside table on the tight side and use a wall-mounted shelf 20cm above the mattress instead.
Can I put a solid oak bookshelf in a non-aircon storeroom?
An un-airconditioned HDB storeroom in Jurong can swing from 75% to 95% RH overnight, which will cup solid oak within months. Either run a small 12L dehumidifier on a hygrometer switch, or switch to engineered oak with a thicker PU finish. Keep the bookshelf 10cm off the back wall so air circulates and you don't trap moisture against the vinyl flooring.
What delivery day should I pick for a condo move-in?
Avoid Saturdays for furniture delivery to a Punggol or Tampines condo — the service lifts are queued by every household doing weekend reno. Mid-week (Tuesday to Thursday) between 10am and 2pm is the quietest slot. Book the loading bay through your condo management at least 48 hours ahead, and confirm the lift weight limit if your order is over 80kg.
Is a desk worth the price in Singapore dollars?
A decent study desk in Singapore ranges from S$220 (basic MDF) to S$1,500+ for solid hardwood. Worth the price depends on three things: motorised sit-stand frames jump cost by S$400 to S$700, drawers add roughly S$80 each, and cable management trays save you the daily tangle. For a 140 x 60cm solid rubberwood desk expect S$520 to S$780, which holds value once you factor a 10-year structural warranty.
What size wardrobe do I need for a 4-room HDB in Singapore?
Two adults sharing need roughly 150cm of hanging width per person, so a 200 to 240cm three-door wardrobe works for most 4-room HDBs at Bedok or Punggol. Solo users manage with 150 to 180cm. Add 15cm depth if you store winter wear or bulky jackets. Always check your service yard or corridor turning radius before ordering — older BTO lifts are tighter than new launches at Tengah.
Best desk for a 3-room Punggol flat under S$600?
Aim for 120 x 60cm compact solid wood desks with a cable cutout, around S$380 to S$580. Verify your Punggol BTO lift dimensions (usually 1.1m wide x 1.4m deep, door 0.9m) so the box fits unassembled. Avoid desks over 130cm length if you have a narrow corridor turn, and request humidity-controlled packing since the journey from Foshan takes 18 to 25 days by sea.
American wardrobe for family with kids — what configuration actually works?
Pick a four-door American-style wardrobe between 200 and 240cm wide with three zones: hanging (90cm), shelving (60cm), and three drawers at the base for toys and socks. Add soft-close hinges because kids slam doors. MIDHILL builds these in rubberwood and oak from Foshan with a 10-year structural warranty. Budget S$1,400 to S$2,200 delivered to Tampines or Jurong East, fully assembled.
French neoclassical rubberwood bed — will it look right in a small condo?
Yes, if you keep everything else quiet. French neoclassical rubberwood beds with curved headboards and tapered legs read elegant, not bulky, because the negative space below shows floor. Pair with a cream linen duvet, one oval cane mirror, and a slim marble-top nightstand. Skip heavy curtains and chandeliers — they fight the silhouette. For a 4-room condo, a 150 x 200cm queen frame in honey rubberwood runs about S$1,100 to S$1,650.
How to pair a solid oak dining table with floor lamps in a Singapore condo?
Hang a 90cm-wide rattan or linen drum pendant above the table, and put a slim 140cm arc floor lamp beside, not behind, the host seat. Keep both lights at 2700K so the oak grain glows warm instead of looking yellow under cool LEDs. Avoid black industrial lamps — they fight warm timber. Allow 70 to 80cm clearance from table edge to lamp base for chair pullback.
Scandinavian or Japandi — which suits a Tampines HDB better?
Both work, but Japandi handles Tampines humidity better because the darker ash and walnut tones hide the slight humidity haze that bleaches pale Scandinavian oak. Japandi also pairs cleanly with the vinyl floors common in new Tampines BTOs. Go Scandinavian only if you commit to a dehumidifier running below 60% RH, or the white oak goes grey and spotty within 18 months.
Common mistakes pairing a coffee table with a 3-seater sofa in Singapore?
Three mistakes I see weekly: coffee table too tall (should match sofa seat height, 40 to 45cm), too far away (leave 35 to 45cm gap), and wrong shape (round softens a rectangular sofa, rectangle grounds a curved one). Avoid glass tops with kids — fingerprints dominate in our climate and you will wipe them twice daily. Choose solid timber with rounded edges instead.
What curtain colour goes with a Korean minimal bedroom set?
Korean minimal bedroom sets lean oat, dove grey, and warm white, so curtains should stay in the same family: stone, oatmeal, or misty sage. Skip bold patterns. Use 1.5x fullness (not 2x) so the fabric falls cleaner in our humid air, and pick a blackout lining because morning sun at Punggol or Bedok hits hard by 7am. Linen-look polyester washes easier than pure linen.
Paint colour that pairs with a mid-tone oak bookcase?
Mid-tone oak bookcases look tired against stark white. Pick a warm neutral with green or taupe undertone — Dulux Timeless, White 03, or Jotun Smooth White 9918 all work. Avoid grey-greige paints because they make honey oak look orange. Test a 1m swatch on the wall behind the bookcase and view at noon and 7pm before committing a 5-litre tin at S$80 to S$120.
Best rug size under a 200cm sofa in a Singapore living room?
Go 240 x 300cm or larger so the front legs of the sofa sit on the rug, not beside it. Smaller rugs make the room look chopped. In our tropical climate pick a flatweave cotton or indoor-outdoor polypropylene — both handle humidity and aircon cycling. Avoid thick wool shags near doorways; they trap moisture at the edges and smell within a year.
What to buy first when furnishing a new BTO from scratch?
Order in this order: bed (you sleep tonight), dining table (you eat tomorrow), wardrobe (you unpack), sofa (you relax), then everything else. Bed and wardrobe have 6 to 8 week lead times from Foshan; sofas run 4 weeks. Measure your HDB lift and corridor before paying any deposit — re-stocking fees in Singapore hit 15 to 25% once the container is en route.
Will a 220cm wardrobe actually fit through a Jurong East HDB lift?
Jurong East HDBs built before 2015 typically have lifts 1.1m wide x 1.4m deep with 0.9m doors, so a fully assembled 220cm wardrobe will not fit. Order flat-packed (most solid wood wardrobes arrive flat-pack anyway), confirm each carton under 2.2m length and under 30kg, and check the turn into your corridor. Newer blocks at Jurong East Spring have wider 1.2m lifts.
Does MIDHILL offer GST refund or invoice for Singapore buyers?
MIDHILL does not advertise GST refund for individual buyers since Singapore does not offer tourist GST refund on imported furniture. What you get is a proper commercial invoice declaring CIF value, payable GST 9% on the declared value at customs clearance. Companies with GST registration can claim input tax via the import permit. Free shipping kicks in above US$350 order value.
How to clean a solid wood dining table in Singapore humidity?
Wipe weekly with a damp microfibre cloth, dry immediately, never leave standing water near edges. Avoid silicone polishes, abrasive cream cleaners, and high-pH products — those cause 80% of warranty claims according to MIDHILL's records. Every order ships with a written cleaning instruction card. Keep humidity between 45 and 60% RH and the table stays stable through our monsoon months.
Is a hand-rubbed gloss finish worth paying extra for?
Yes for high-touch horizontal surfaces like dining tops and coffee tables, no for vertical wardrobe panels. MIDHILL finishes horizontal surfaces with cross-linked polyurethane while vertical pieces get nitrocellulose lacquer — different systems chosen by use case. Hand-rubbed gloss is a sequence of progressively finer abrasives, paste on felt block, buff, then swirl-mark removal — not a single polish coat.
Will solid wood furniture warp in Singapore's humidity?
Properly kiln-dried rubberwood and oak at 8 to 10% moisture content handles Singapore humidity (average 70 to 85% RH) without warping. Problems start when timber arrives wet from poor storage or sits in uncracked containers. MIDHILL uses low-moisture crate timber, desiccant matched to cargo volume, and vapour barriers so the wood never reabsorbs moisture during the sea voyage.
Lift booking for furniture delivery in Tampines HDB — how does it work?
You do not book the lift; the Town Council manages scheduling. Your delivery team books a 2-hour loading window through the managing agent, typically 9am to 5pm weekdays. Some Tampines blocks (especially older ones near Tampines Mall) restrict heavy moves to before 2pm. Expect a S$50 to S$120 fee for using the service lift, payable direct to the Town Council.
Return policy if the wardrobe arrives damaged in Singapore?
MIDHILL offers 14-day returns from delivery for unused items in original crate. Damage claims need photos within 48 hours, plus retention of all packing — the rigid crate base matters more than foam thickness for proving transit damage. The 10-year structural warranty covers joint failure and wood splitting, while the 2-year surface warranty handles finish defects unrelated to cleaning mistakes.
Solid wood vs engineered wood for Singapore condo furniture?
Solid wood handles humidity swings better long-term and can be sanded and refinished lifetime (MIDHILL offers this service). Engineered wood like rubberwood ply or MDF with oak veneer stays flatter initially and costs 30 to 50% less. For statement pieces — bed, dining table — go solid. For wardrobes and bookcases over 200cm, quality engineered wood actually performs better because it resists warping.
Best indoor plants to pair with a Scandinavian oak bookcase in HDB?
Pick plants with soft, rounded leaves that echo Scandi lines without crowding: ZZ plant, bird-of-paradise, or a single statement fiddle leaf in a black or raw terracotta pot. Skip cacti and succulents — they look prickly next to pale oak. Place taller plants at the open end of the bookcase, not in front, so the silhouette breathes. Water weekly; our indoor humidity already feeds most tropicals.
