Bed atlanta queen bed delivery problem solved

May 2023. The Thompson family in suburban Atlanta had just moved into their new home—a 120-square-meter apartment with high ceilings and a spacious master bedroom. They envisioned a grand bed fit for a master suite, something that would tie the room together. Their dream: an American French Cream Carved Queen Bed with Gilt Accents, priced at US$1150.00, from a local Atlanta retailer, MIDHILL.

The Dream Bed

The bed’s description called to them: an ivory lacquer frame with hand-painted gold accents, a diamond-tufted camelback headboard, and acanthus carvings. It seemed perfect for their bright, humid climate where furniture needed to be both durable and stylish. The size—203 cm x 203 cm—would fit snugly against the wall, leaving space for a nightstand and closet.

The First Hurdle: Delivery

They ordered the bed online, excited. MIDHILL promised delivery within two weeks. The first shock came when they saw the shipping cost: US$85.00—double what they expected. The mattress, separately ordered, would add another US$300.00 to the delivery charge for the bed and mattress package combined. "We weren’t prepared for that," said Sarah, the mom. "We live in a walkable neighborhood, but our apartment complex is five miles from the store."

The delivery date arrived, June 1st. No bed. A call to MIDHILL revealed the driver was delayed due to traffic. "The driver called again at 8 PM," Sarah said. "He said he’d try again the next day but couldn’t guarantee it.\” Their excitement faded. "We had planned the room around this bed," she added. "Without it, the room feels empty."

Second Delivery Attempt: Damage Fears

June 2nd, the sun baked Atlanta in 35°C heat. The driver arrived, but the bed was slightly scratched. "He said it was from handling in the warehouse," the driver explained. "I checked the bed carefully. There’s a small chip on the acanthus carving on the headboard and a few marks on the legs." Sarah’s heart sank. "This was supposed to be high-quality furniture. I don’t want a damaged bed in my bedroom."

The driver offered to take it back and redeliver the next day, but Sarah wasn’t convinced. "What if it gets damaged again?" she asked. They decided to keep the bed, but MIDHILL agreed to send a small repair kit—a small tube of wood filler and a touch-up pen—for the chip.

The Assembly Nightmare

June 3rd arrived. The box arrived, but assembly was harder than expected. The instructions were basic and poorly translated. Sarah and her husband spent two hours trying to fit the frame together, only to realize they had two sets of similar-looking parts. "We were getting frustrated," Sarah admitted. "The carvings were beautiful, but putting the frame together felt impossible without tools we didn’t have."

They called MIDHILL’s customer service. A representative walked them through the process over the phone. "It took 45 minutes before we got it right," Sarah said. "But once it was together, it looked amazing." The repair kit arrived the next day, and they applied it carefully. The chip was barely noticeable.

Third Delivery: The Miracle

June 10th. Sarah called MIDHILL to ask about redelivery. "They scheduled it for the next day," she said. "At 8 AM. The driver called again at 7:45 AM saying he was running late—traffic again. But he arrived at 8:10 AM with the bed perfectly wrapped in protective material."

The bed was spotless. The driver carefully placed it in the room. "He even helped us position it against the wall," Sarah said. "We were so relieved. It looked perfect in the sunlight streaming through the window."

The Damage Claim

A week later, Sarah noticed a small scratch on the camelback headboard—probably from the initial delivery. She called MIDHILL again. The representative was sympathetic. "They offered to send a touch-up pen again," Sarah said. "But this time, they also asked if I wanted them to replace the headboard entirely. I declined. I appreciated their willingness to help."

The touch-up pen arrived quickly. Sarah used it to blend the scratch into the carvings. The result was nearly invisible. "MIDHILL handled everything professionally," she said. "Their support team was helpful, and they understood that delivery in the US can be unpredictable. Sometimes delays happen, and sometimes furniture gets slightly damaged. It’s important to have a company that addresses problems honestly."

Living with the Bed

Now, two months later, the bed is the centerpiece of the room. The cream and gold palette complements the light hardwood floors. The diamond-tufted headboard is a favorite for reading under the dim lamp. Sarah and her family are happy with their purchase—despite the initial delivery and assembly challenges. "The bed is beautiful," she said. "And we appreciate how MIDHILL helped when things didn’t go perfectly the first time. If you live in the Atlanta area, I’d recommend them."
